Have you been a subscriber since the charter?

I had been, but I forgot to change my payment method to an active card one year, so I had a break in service. Maybe it's people who have been there since the beginning without break.

My understanding is that those who have good taste in movies, based upon their viewing history, get $20. Those whose movie history is poor, get only $10.

Everyone who has used their Criterion Channel subscription to watch Freddy Got Fingered will be fined an additional $20

I should note that for those interested, the following sets are listed as out of print:

Wow I never knew about the other three. Wonder how long ago these went OOP and if we should expect more Eclipse sets to go OOP. I thought Carlos Saura's Trilogy was the only one for a long time since it was StudioCanal. An absolutely amazing set and Blood Wedding is one of my favorites. It does make sense that Akerman set would go OOP since they re-released it. Never heard of the other two sets.

It is funny that last month their most popular films were in the Razzies collection.

Yes, I did watch Barb Wire, why do you ask?

That reminds me I really need to buy Heavens Gate on Blu-Ray from Criterion along with Cruising from Arrow Video on Blu-Ray. They’re considered huge cult classics nowadays, and I’m glad Arrow Video and Criterion gave these films proper releases.

I bought "Eclipse Series 16: Alexander Korda's Private Lives" in the last Criterion 50% off sale on 28 FEB, so it's very recent for going OOP.

Same for the Jean Gremillon set...I've had that on my wishlist and never noticed it OOP, so it must be pretty recent. Now regretting that I hadn't pulled the trigger.

Shit, someone over on the Criterion subreddit just notified people that Truffaut's Day for Night is OOP. Prices must've skyrocketed in the last hour or so.

Worth noting that this was a Warner Bros. title and not a Janus Films title. Don't think this is a sign of more Warner Bros. titles going OOP since they still have a working relationship but I wonder if we should expect a few more to go out or not.

Yikes. I hope this means a 4K is coming and not more OOP WB titles.

I just checked to see what other Blu-Ray releases are out of print.

I can't remember if these were also previously known to be out of print:

Gray's Anatomy
And Everything Is Going Fine
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

One thing I wish the Channel would do is to make those handy "collections" for these filmmakers where they have A LOT of their works (this is mostly connected to the Japanese output that Janus has, but not exclusively---this was just my inspiration yesterday as I was going through my list for the first time in a while).

Ozu of course has one because they did a spotlight on his work that one month, Honda as well, but for organizational purposes it would be nice if, like, Naruse or Gosho or any of these others had their stuff lumped together for ease of browsing. Would have making a list feel less sprawling.

Can you not just do a search for the director's name and bring up a list that way?

Not a bad idea, though that could become tedious in itself to sift through. Alternatively, you could search a speciific director like Mikio Naruse, and all of his films should show up:

Oh sure---duh, searching is easy, but in a watchlist having a single tab of, like, Ozu where the films are listed chronologically with all of their supplement videos attached is certainly a lot handier than having thirty plus individual films scattered around. It's like having having a few tabs there as opposed to having one hundred plus single titles to wade through.

On the other hand, my little rabbit hole last night put me into Duke's POV where, Jesus, I wish they would just put so much of this stuff on disc, haha.
