Very nice. Same director/animator as Fantastic Planet.

The Dreamers (director Bernardo Bertolucci). I so glad I picked up the Korean blu-ray.

The Fall (2006 director Tarsem) Awesome film! I picked this one up during Blu-ray’s infancy (lucky me!) This needs a 4k HDR.

The Piano Turner of Earthquakes (directors Quay brothers) by the masters of stop motion animation.

Les Maîtres Du Temps (director René Laloux) designed by Mœbius! Criterion has released Fantastic Planet so this would be a logical step; one would think.

Shadow of the Vampire (director E. Elias Merhige) Defoe as Nosferatu, Malkovich as Murnau and produced by my man Nicky Cage!!! Still on DVD! Now that Eggers is making his version (I am hyped up for his next film) I hope Shadow of the Vampire will follow as a 4k by some company.

Any film by Andrei Tarkovsky in 4k.

Floating Weeds (director Yasujirō Ozu). Ok no box set, but a 4k release will satisfy that itch.

Time Masters was in my wishlist for future releases from a year ago. I have The Dreamers 4k from UK and Kino’s Nostalghia 4k. The list aged pretty well.

Apparently Tarsem reached out some while ago to Criterion for a revised release of The Fall, and they snubbed him.

When asked if his team reached out to the home video distributor, however, Singh said:

"We have. It was the strangest thing, they kind of have not responded to it. The kind of stuff that I like, it’s that kind of a film. It's very polarizing. People think it's the best thing, or they think it's the biggest piece of shit in the world, and both are okay with me…Somehow, in this particular one, whenever we've approached everybody– I did tell the lawyer and everything after this particular one, 'I will have a chat, and we'll find an outlet for it.' But Criterion doesn't seem to think it's their kind of film, which is bizarre."

TCM is now showing The Life and Times of Colonel Blimp. Has this got a new master?

Actually Defoe as Max Schreck playing Nosferatu (with a neat twist), while Eggers is remaking Murnau's film (I hope in glorious B&W). I agree I hope Shadow finally gets a high-definition release. Abel Ferrara's King of New York is also heavily influenced by Nosferatu, and of course there's the Herzog/Kinski version.

Also Helen Mirren and a very young Pierce Brosnan. Also a historical record of the Canary Wharf area before it was developed as a financial hub.

Some great ideas on this list. I just grabbed the UK 4K release of The Dreamers but haven't checked it out yet. Maybe a project for this weekend!

For those with the Criterion Channel, but don't visit the streaming section of this forum, both Comrades: Almost a Love Story and Ngai Choi Lam's bonkers The Cat are leaving on the 30th. Comrades is going back in WB's Golden Harvest jail, don't know who has the US rights to The Cat, so I'm begging everyone to watch these before they leave the service.

I'd love to get David Fincher's 'The Killer' on 4k. One of the most enjoyable movies I saw last year.

Some people just don't take a lot (I think Alec Baldwin took like 3 titles and 2 of those were discs he was going to give to other people) or they edit out a lot (during the flash sale they posted some outtakes of Paul Giamatti taking some stuff he hadn't seen before - I think it was the Shochiku Horror Eclipse set.)

Yes, this article made me sad. It is a beautiful, colorful film that would greatly benefit a 4K hdr transfer compared to the blu ray release. I love the story too. Hopefully, Tarsem’s group will get a hold of another boutique label like Arrow or Synapse. It would be great in the criterion collection, but if not possible there are now more options than before.

I have this set: https://www.criterion.com/boxsets/89...ingmar-bergman

I organize alphabetically on my Criterion shelf. Where the hell does it go? F for Film? B for Bergman? T for Through a Glass?

It's known as the Faith Trilogy (or Trilogy of Faith) so I would probably file it under F.

Received the WKW set today from Amazon. Was pleasantly surprised to see that the packaging and booklet were in perfect condition. But then I opened it and saw that three of the discs were heavily scratched, with Days of Being Wild even having two tiny holes that look burned in. Now I'm sad.
