Years and years ago I remembered if I stayed awake til super late as the prices would shift, the preorders would be part of the discount, and then by morning they would be back to normal but I would get them at a locked in price. But I think that stopped in like 2012/2013.

It's been a while since I ordered from B&N, but that is what I remembered too. Pretty much up to date on Criterion besides the pre-orders. Was hoping they sneaked in!

At least they include the pre-orders that will be released during the sale. It makes sense but I've seen other retailers not include those or even very recent releases.

I was always extremely excited for these sales. Getting off from a hard days work on a Friday and walking in the store to peruse the shelves. Grabbing titles and building up a stack in my hands. Having random conversations with other folks who were there for the same thing. Giving them recommendations. Listening to theirs. I always had a great deal of fun. Since COVID, however, it just hasn't been the same. I'm usually the only one there and my store doesn't load up on old stock. They have the newer titles, which is fine, but older titles typically aren't restocked. It's always the same titles every time I walk in. Kinda bums me out. Anyways, I secured and in-store pickup for these (I will still walk the shelves to see if something catches my eye):
