I'm the opposite. I deeply despise digipaks for their non-standard dimensions and fragility (tearing and moisture being the big offenders), and wish Criterion would abandon them, or at least offer titles both with and without digipak.

I like most of Criterion’s digipaks but I do agree they could be made better. I’d prefer they keep the look they have but the outer part be made of chipboard like Arrow uses. Repo Man is one of the best looking digipaks out there. I’ve seen the Blu-ray in a regular cause and it loses some of its charm.

Just watched the Made In England doc in the theater. Fabulous. Scorsese really laying it down

For the record, there was a Lloyd title released in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019... and... well, still waiting for more.
Went and saw a screening of a handful of Lloyd’s films last year w his gran-daughter / daughter in attendance. She was a gem

I'm really holding out some more hope to see more Astaire/Rogers be released as well from CC. I love Swing Time, but I don't think it's their best one. There's the Japanese import, but it's expensive-ish and supposedly the DVDs are better at points.
I’m not really sure I agree w this (that Lloyd has been forgotten) I would say someone like Harry Langdon fits this mold a bit more.

But if anything that could or did contribute to that, it’s that Lloyd had his films out of circulation for many years because he didn’t want to license his films out to tv cause he didn’t want commercial interruptions.

I saw a sneak preview of No Country a couple weeks before it came out. Was quite underwhelmed at the time, but have gone back and watched it a handful of times since. An eccentric thriller that turns contemplative. In the vein of Blood Simple but more polished.

Also I own an original USA 8 1/2 poster that I scored for $5! I can’t remember what the formal name of the poster is but it’s larger than a one sheet (closer to a French Grande or 4F) and the paper is a thicker cardboard stock.

The first run of the 'All About Eve' digipak's were infuriating. They were such cheapskates with that release.

I thought the movie too swiftly changes gears from the chase to pondering about bigger questions. It's like the rollercoaster came to a complete stop. Still first-rate movie, though.

Weren’t they supposed to have offered a replacement case for that one or was it the Now, Voyager case?

Now, Voyager wasn't a digipak so I guess so.

They might regret not releasing EASTERN CONDORS in 4K as that film deserves it even more than THE HEROIC TRIO and EXECUTIONERS. Here's hoping Eureka will re-release it in 4K eventually.

That's because you made the mistake of thinking that Josh Brolin was the main character, not Tommy Lee Jones.

Those weird rubber hubs that had some issues iirc. Did they ever follow up on it and offer a replacement?

Yes, they did and it’s a standard digipack.

No. The sheriff was a main character as was Llewynn Moss and Anton. The film was a story about all three characters equally. The overarching theme had more pertinence to the sheriff, but that doesn't mean the whole movie was about him.

That also doesn't negate the IMO clumsy transition to the epilogue. My comment stands, sorry you didn't things that way.

And what came of epilogue wasn't really enlightening or revelatory, either.
