Barnes and Noble have finally gotten back to me about my damaged night of the hunter.

This is what they said:

"If you would prefer to return the item, please advise, and we will
contact you within 24 hours with return instructions. If you would like
a replacement, you can place a new order at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/. If you wish, we
are happy to do this for you. Simply respond to this email with your
permission to re-charge your credit card for the replacement."

By "re-charge your credit card", do they mean to take money out again so or refund my money back?....confused by their wording

I think they charge you for the replacement and then credit you later.
this is the way many of these places claim they have to so things.
they will credit you upon receipt of returned disc.
with amazon they actually don't re-charge you unless they don't receive your defective disc within a certain amount of time which is a much better way of doing things imo.

Went to B&N after work today just to chill before going home, and my cashier friend in the movie section warned me of the upcoming Buy 2 Get 1 free sale in January, starting on the 4th. I asked how long it would last, and she said one month...that seems kinda long. I know the CC 50% sale is shorter than that.

Adjust your plans accordingly!! I'm glad I waited on the January pre-orders!

I think this might be Suddenly, Last Summer (1959) released as a Columbia Classics DVD. Don't know what the licensing situation with Sony is...

Just got done watching "The Naked Prey." It had been close to 30 years since I had seen it. I enjoyed it just as much tonight, as I did the very first time. The DVD transfer was very good. I highly recommend.

fyi, the BBS Story blu-ray set is selling online for 50% off at Barnes & Noble. Throw in a 25% off coupon and that should be a pretty sweet deal (google on "dvdtalk barnes" for coupon link - my network's been running slow and I'm going to bed).

Thanks for the heads up on the BBS Story. Just got it for $56.30. I also used code C3N8F7W which gave me an extra 9.6% off the already 50% off.

Canada The Third Man / The Man Who Fell to Earth / Pierrot le fou

My complete Criterion collection has been already sold @ 90%.

I still have THE THIRD MAN, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH and PIERROT LE FOU for sale; I kept them for the end

All 3 were bought new from Amazon.com and watched once, so they're in perfect shape. I paid for the plastic cases, so no cardboard.

I'm in Montreal. Priority to local pick-up, but if I can't find anyone interested in Montreal, I can ship them.

Prices:
The Third Man: 70$
The Man Who Fell to Earth: 70$
Pierrot le fou: 40$

OR

Buy all 3 for 150$!

Cheers!
Eric

I figured Pierrot le fou might have become unavailable in shops, but wasn't aware TMWFTE had become hard to get.

You can get Pierrot Le Fou on Amazon from someone for, like, $35-40.
