A Woman of Paris for me, and it might be there in time for the next flash sale. My fingers are crossed.

I think we could count on King Kong 4K entering the collection at some point.

Night Moves for sure. I'm happy to see another Godzilla movie, but I'd LOVE to see them put out Destroy All Monsters! from 1968. I saw it in the movies and this 8 year old at the time was mesmerized.

I’ll be upgrading ‘Thief’ and ‘The Wages of Fear’ (love the new artwork) to 4K. Intrigued by ‘A Woman of Paris’ too..
I hope this means that more Alan Rudolph is on the way. I'd love to have The Moderns in 4k. Lesley Ann Warren had 2 Rudolph films in 1984, she also was in Songwriter. I was pissed off that she did not get an Oscar nomination that year.

Another great 2025 slate. I'm in for the 4Ks of Thief, Night Moves, The Wages of Fear, Godzilla vs Biollante, and the Blu of A Woman of Paris.

Pretty impressive that we're only to March so far and Criterion has 14 4K releases coming out, with nine being new to the collection.

Quality slate. Second consecutive re-do of a WAC title though… this will get tiresome I fear.

I was thinking about that as well.

Between re-releasing 4K Columbia Classics movies (we're overdue for an OtW announcement), and now WAC, I feel more and more confident about a complete Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy 4K box set at some point in the future.

Solid looking month! Nothing immediate, but I definitely would love to watch A Woman of Paris and Wages of Fear!

Haha. I'm here. Initially I was thinking about saying something about all the 4K upgrades, but with so many people happy about the releases, I decided not to say anything. I'll just say I'm happy for those excited for all the titles, but too many 4K upgrades for my tastes and was hoping for some new to HD Toho titles first.

Still hoping we get an Ishiro Hondo boxset of all the non Godzilla titles in October.

If we're doing the great neo-noirs of the 70s and early 80s, this could do with an improved release:

But c'mon, this understated classic isn't even on BD:

Yeah, I've been hoping that Criterion would be the company with enough pull to get both versions of G84/85 together.

Also surprised that it's not a Heisei box, it's only 7 films.

I've got the Biollante Blu-ray from a few years ago, so I don't need this right away but I'll probably end up getting it during one of the sales.

Biollante is the only Heisei movie released on 4K in Japan to date so they couldn't do any more. There are 3 more (Return, G vs Mechagodzilla II, and Final Wars) slated for next June as part of a 70th anniversary box set. We likely won't see any of those in the US until Summer 2026 at the earliest. We might see more Showa titles coming before then though.

I want The Late Show also. But Body Heat is one of my all-time favorites and is in dire need of an upgrade IMO.

Duke I hope you start considering picking up a Region B or free Blu-Ray player they’re not expensive, and since I think BFI is picking up on Kurosawa more than Criterion I would greatly consider it along with picking up BFI’s Stray Dog on Blu-Ray. You really should as I think Criterion isn’t really focused on putting many new to Blu-Ray Japanese titles so far just upgrades to 4K. I say go for it you’re missing out on a lot of titles not doing it.

Duke’s not going Region Free, numerous threads have been detailed with people telling him why he should go region free, he isn’t.

Well darn he's definitely missing out on a lot of stuff though by not doing it.
