I'm also curious to see how the Criterion "In The Heat of the Night" compares to the previous Kino version.
I think it's a temporary thing with Criterion picking up those Kino MGM 4Ks that are now OOP.

Hot damn! I'd forgotten all about the rumored Musketeer films! Don't know why Killer of Sheep has taken this long, but most welcome to see that one. And thrilled to finally get the Robinson films stateside - yeah, yeah, I'm one of those.

Been waiting on those Musketeer films for awhile, so that will be an easy pick up.

To say I'm a bit miffed Advertising is only getting a blu while Withnail is getting a 4K is putting it mildly. I'll buy it, but I like Advertising a whole lot more.

Withnail and I is absolutely amazing, definitely one of the finest British films ever made. Richard E. Grant’s performance = *chef’s kiss*

Strong month, with some great indie entries. Did not expect to see Killer of Sheep make the jump from DVD to 4K.

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me if Criterion had these titles ready to go just before Kino snatched the UHD rights. Now that they're back with Criterion I can see them including one in each month's announcements until they reissue all of them.

That being said, will def be picking up In the Heat of the Night and Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

A bit surprising that The Wind Will Carry Us isn't coming to 4K too. It's definitely a new restoration/scan compared to what Cohen put out, though some may not like it as I'm noticing more teals and yellow hues compared to that release. Still looks like a notable upgrade in terms of detail though.

Between Raquel Welch, Faye Dunaway, Rachel Ward, and Catherine Deneuve, this has to be one of the most attractive months I can recall.

Haven't seen it yet, but like PRINCE OF BROADWAY, I assume despite being a 4K scan, the source itself makes Criterion feel like spending extra $ on producing native 4K discs does not justify the costs.

FWIW, I think PRINCE OF BROADWAY is a good film, but it does not need a 4K disc. Increased resolution would not be beneficial for it.

ADVERTISING is only a 2K restoration, while WITHNAIL is a 4K restoration.

This one is different though as it has excellent cinematography that would absolutely look great in 4K. Killer of Sheep is a much rougher B&W film that is getting a 4K disc, so it's an odd decision.

Neil Sinyard literally being the world expert on Lester at that.

I did not think Criterion would be able to top April's slate of films. My only complaint is there are too many great releases all at once, and not enough funds to get them.
