That got me as well! Was in a pitch black room and felt chills after I saw that.

My favorite moment is probably the mystery man in Lost Highway.

My BBS set was scheduled to ship on the 28th, but I didn't receive an email today . My card has been charged, and it says they do that when it ships, so maybe I just haven't received the email? The anticipation is killing me

The slipbox probably not, but the actual digipack just screams The Man Who Fell to Earth for me.

It's hard to go wrong with Walter Matthau.

Charley Varrick (Don Segal) would be right up their alley. I don't know how it's managed to stay so completely under the radar for as long as it has but it's a legitimate 70s classic.

And while getting any Billy Wilder would be tough they might be able to talk MGM out of The Fortune Cookie.

Oh to dream...

I have no opinion on the movie, but I thought I would say something about this:

Neil Kellerhouse (cover artist for Criterion, me being a big fanboy) is who made the cover and poster for this film. So I CAN see people saying it looks like a Criterion because HE makes Criterion covers (Antichrist, Dillinger, Paris, Texas).

Check him out:

I've seen it in a store close to where I live many times, but I've never made the plunge. Is it really that good, CG? I've picked it up many times, but just couldn't take it to the register for whatever reason.

+1... it's way better than the second half of the second season of the TV show (apart from the last ep, which was great). Are there any indications of this getting a release apart from the donut picture? I'm about to buy the French BD but might hold off...

I have not gotten the Chungking Express replacement case. I think I ordered it around the end of the sale for the case. Should I contact them? Has anyone gotten replacement cases lately?

Also what's the best cut of Rocky Horror to watch first? Are they only different in the endings?

No, we can't

I don't think anyone is in the Criterion offices until the new year. No one, including myself, has heard anything from them since about the middle of December. After the new year, though, I expect it might take a while to get back to everyone 'cause I'm sure they'll be swamped.

Are you referring to Rocky Horror Picture Show? If so, just watch the US version. The UK version just has an extra song at the end of the film.

Let's just say if people blind buy Criterion, they should have no problem blind buying this, as I would watch this again over any film in the Criterion Collection.

I mean the cover art should have a stupid "Hilarious, 4 stars!" or what I would write (spoiler for language)
[Show spoiler]"Brass uses Godard and Bunuel as lube so he can shove a surreal dildo straight up your ***!"
. That good. If you like Salo, you should have no problem watching this 3 times in a row.

I was just looking over Amazon, in regards to making a "Chungking Express" Blu ray purchase, and it doesn't appear they are stocking it anymore. Very unusual.

Does seem to be between printings. On the other hand, it does say Miramax on the back... So maybe it's transitioning to plastic case, slight chance it's not. Criterion store still lists it as in stock. Seems to be about the only place to get it online right now (except for cduniverse).

On the other hand, if you have a local barnes and noble store, type this into google:

chungking express site:video.barnesandnoble.com

Select the first item, then do the find in-store. Seems to be available in pretty much all the stores in my area.

Borders also seems to have some copies available in stores, albeit not in nearly as many.
