It’s hilarious because it’s true. Also: “hookers”!

Hoping for some horror title 4K upgrades like Carnival of Souls

For or before NOV an Ice Storm 4K would be nice.

I think IN THE BEDROOM and LITTLE CHILDREN both are possible, particularly the former with the Miramax deal. The latter could possibly come from Warner Archive or Shout as well.

FWWM 4K is confirmed for November. Also, I'd be surprised if Criterion upgrades NAKED LUNCH anytime soon with Disney now having the rights. Fortunately, we already have exceptional releases from Arrow and Turbine that Criterion likely will not outdo.

With Shrouds on the JC line, I’m predicting maybe History of Violence in October on the main line as well.

Are you guys buying most of these off of Amazon? I've compared a lot of the titles on the B & N site to Amazon, and the vast majority are significantly more expensive on B & N. I like to buy direct, but the price difference is wide.

Edit: NVM

Can you show some examples? B&N are at 50% off MSRP, which Amazon has largely matched. There are a few where Amazon are matching WM's lower price (like The BIg Heat 4K for $19.98), or a week or so ago when they had some price mistakes, but I'm not seeing a vast majority that are significantly more expensive at B&N.

Wow, tomorrow is 15th already. Time flies. I doubt it will happen, but crossing my fingers for Goke, Body Snatcher from Hell. Won't love to revisit one of the best Japanese sci-fi horror films.

I've been mainly buying the new titles in store at B&N, plus getting the rewards points from purchases to use on future purchases is nice.

As for the Amazon prices, I don't think I've seen any with significant differences? If anything, some titles like The Big Heat in 4K is cheaper than B&N. Is it primarily newer / older releases?

Nevermind, my dumbass was looking at blu ray prices instead of 4K prices.

Now I can shop in peace knowing my future purchase will arrive in something more protective than a pathetic bubble mailer.

This sounds like a pretty good prediction and forgot about Serpent's Path for a second. Still hoping it's a double feature with Eyes of the Spider as both films were filmed back to back with a lot of the same cast and crew and are thematically related. Even if it's only a special feature, but we'll see what happens.

I'm certainly not good at predicting Criterion's releases, so I'll just stick with my regular wish list:

Top Hat (1935) 4K
Captain Blood (1935) 4K or Blu-ray
Harold Lloyd
Charlie Chaplin
Charade (1963)

Plus one title that I could have sworn seeing somebody mention got a new 4K restoration (and if true, would likely only get releases in October anyway)

I Married A Witch (1942) 4k

Ah, good catch. I couldn't remember if it was October or November.

Wouldn't ALTERED STATES be more of an Arrow or even a VinSyn title? It totally could come from Criterion, though.

At any rate, it needs a new release. That current WB BD being only a BD-25 really ruined what was a new scan.

I wonder if a little birdy told MifuneFan something about Altered States? In any event, one reason it is on a possible release list is that it had a phantom page on Criterion's site a number of years back.

Even though I didn't guess Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me, it wouldn't shock me if the upgrade was in October instead of November, as that kind of shuffling of upgrades to UHD is probably pretty common, since the special features are already completed, it is just down to the authoring, disc pressing and printing the packaging.
