They're an office job, offices are typically closed on weekends.

All that talk about Criterion never releasing another Polanski film on their label… that ain’t happening. His films sell and I want me some 4K upgrades! That includes a whole new Rosemary’s Baby 4K scan with none of that DNR stick hitting it. That Paramount 4K is trash.
Because Polanski is an all round wholesome kind of guy. Mia Farrow thinks so anyway so it must be true.

I guess they do long weekends to cause they're allergic to announcing releases on Fridays as well. Always thought it was odd.

Honestly, why are Criterion employee allergic to staying at work? Who said they could go home! They should stay at the offices! Work nonstop! Why are they allergic to 24 hour workdays? People just don’t want to work anymore! Lazy bums!

Guess I should've watched the video instead of skipping to the end.

Maybe the slate was too big so they needed a bit of extra time. That’s my hope anyway. I don’t usually follow this thread, or Criterion for that matter, but after learning that the label has deals in place with Disney and now Warner, they’re on my radar

I missed that it was going to get a Film Masters release, but I guess that's good because I would have been really disappointed when they dropped it.

When will 'The Rock' and 'Armageddon' get the 4k treatment?

They were asked to watch Sofia Coppola's marvelous performance in Godfather III countless times.

Naturally, the staff has been seeking therapy sessions on weekends.

... the things lovely people at Criterion do to get us LiT.

Generally I think delayed announcements are due to waiting on approval on something. When they announced the Godzilla Showa Era set the entire slate announcement was delayed because they were waiting on Toho's approval for the final specs. They eventually announced everything but the Godzilla set.W(Which, amusingly, got leaked by a Target.com listing before the official announcement.)
