Shoeshine appears to be doing well judging by the sellout on Atomic. They have more copies now but it sold out initially very quickly. I never even got a chance to get an order in (my Amazon copy should arrive tomorrow). Cairo Station arrived last week. Looking forward to watching both.

Cairo Station is awesome. I'm grabbing it in November for sure. Enjoy!

Random question: anyone know if there's a logic to the numerical IDs in individual product URLs? Like this:

criterion dot com/films/34685-flow
criterion dot com/films/29237-twin-peaks-fire-walk-with-me
criterion dot com/films/1201-deep-crimson

Then there's me whom is thinking of watching some winter films in the fall along with rewatching some Christmas films. No EWS is not one of them not a Christmas film to me as I personally don't care for this film. I'll rewatch a Simple Plan instead in fact I plan to do that multiple times a few months this year including September, November, and December. This film is amazing like a fantastic freaking film. I'm also a person that keeps their Christmas decorations up all year long, and I never take them down ever.

No one seems to mention that .. GOLD RUSH 4K .. is a possibility.

The 4K restoration had screenings earlier this year.

They’re randomly generated but in the late 00s you could use Criterion’s website to fish for upcoming releases and actually find them early due to using non-random numbers for URLs and image file links

Not that I can tell. On their old site it used to be sequential. So on the new announcement day you could go to the last announced title and change the number to get the new announcements before they were announced.

With November being one of their big months, it was hard not to include every major title connected to Criterion in there, as well as some films that have an anniversary (like Pee Wee for example). I thought about adding Eyes Wide Shut or Lolita, but I feel EWS may be December. Also you'll notice House Party isn't there. I swear every time a director or actor says a movie is coming a specific month, it ends up being another month. So, I'm leaving it off the list, which pretty much assures it will be announced

Others that I considered

The Gold Rush 4K
Night of the Hunter 4K
Point Blank 4K
The Last Wave 4K
Godzilla Showa Volume 1* 4K (Raids Again, Mothra, Ghidorah)

[Show spoiler]*I'm unsure how Criterion will handle the Godzilla Showa sequels on 4K, if they will at all. Will they just do one big set again, or break it down into volumes?

I somehow missed the Pee-wee's Big Adventure rumor train. I know it’s the Anniversary year but that would be wild if we got it from Criterion. I feel like WB will release it themselves.

It's okay, I put a bunch of titles in there. I considered Gold Rush for my main list, but figured Criterion will likely tour it around the country first for a few months before a release. Who knows though.

Should be up soon, they took down the October banner this morning so they're definitely updating the site today.
