Hey guys, I discovered a you tube channel called openflix. It has hundreds of movies streaming legal and free (with ads) but I thought some of you may be interested because it has some films in the Criterion library on there.
http://www.youtube.com/user/openflix

They also have an official web site as well.
http://filmhound.tv/

On their home page alone there is The Third Man, M, Metropolis, The Kid, Night of the Living Dead, etc. I found Haxan on there as well. I am going to do some more searching and see what all they have.

Seems to be a pretty cool place and a great way to check out some great movies, especially if you don't have nexflix.

Just thought I would share that with all of you. I hope you enjoy!

NOTE: I am not affiliated with these sites at all, I just thought it was a cool discovery and there may be some interested members on this thread.

A quick fun fact, Tinto Brass was asked to direct A Clockwork Orange, but didn't do it. Instead he made this film, which as much as I love A Clockwork Orange, this is better.

Tina Aumont, the woman in my pic, is worth to watch this alone.
I've heard of it somewhere but haven't had the pleasure. I need to treat myself to a Tinto Brass marathon. I've been on a Jess Franco kick..."Faceless" (an ultra sleazy late '80s "reimagining" of Eyes Without A Face that could only have come from Europe in that period) kind of kicked that one off for me.

Has anyone tried ordering Pierrot le Fou from Barnes and Noble? Thinking about ordering it with their current sale, adn just curious if they actually have them like they say. Thinking about getting The Red Shoes and Shock Corridor (or possibly Naked Kiss...can't decide...suggestions?)

Have you seen "La Grand Bouffe" SpiderBaby? It's hilarious and gross, and has an amazing cast with Piccoli, Mastroianni and Phillipe Noiret among others.

There is a US reissued DVD of the film. I picked up the Australian disc which has a commentary and 45-min extra on the films of Marco Ferreri

Yes, you can also own it in a Marco box set.

Really loving the Blu relases for Army of Shadows and Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

Army is one of my all time favorites, the HD transfer takes care of the DVD compression issues. I really want more Melville.

Just watched it today, and I really loved it. Great Blu-ray release, and I agree. More Melville is very much needed.

Oh, and I also noticed that the main menu for The Social Network just screams Criterion. It is very much like the Benjamin Button Criterion menu.

Has that been discussed? This release seems to be very much a Criterion release, with everything but the actual Criterion logos, etc.

I don't think the menu of The Social Network has been discussed so I wanted to bring up that point. If you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say it could easily pass off as a menu Criterion would have put out.

I can't wait until Friday for Criterion to tell us what new screen menus they are going to release. Better not suck!

Why would Sony want to share the money they will make off of it is the reason. They prob can't wait to put Oscar stickers all over it.

When the 15th falls on a weekend they announce titles before that? I was trying to remember what has happened in the past.

Seven Samurai is on it's way to me from Axelmusic, my first ever Criterion - I'm looking forward to it.

How many here have watched Close Up? I watched it last night for the first time, and I ended up really enjoying it. I was just wondering what the popular opinion was of this movie, because I don't see it talked about a lot.

However, if you're going to buy Naked Kiss and Shock Corridor at some point anyway, might as well do it with this sale as you'll get the pre-order price as well as the B2G1F deal. As someone in this thread mentioned previously, it's essentially the same deal as the 50% off sale because of the extra discount on the pre-orders. Pierrot (or Red Shoes) + Naked Kiss + Shock Corridor = $60, not including any additional B&N membership or any other discounts.
I am definitely going to buy Pierrot le Fou, with the hope I actually get it. I just need to decide between the Fullers. I am torn about which to get first. I might end up getting both, and waiting on The Red Shoes...
