Fishing with John's cover is terrible, but that might be on purpose. You can't take it seriously.

I hope they release Harakiri on blu. That dvd price isn't dropping, and I'll feel better paying that much for a blu ray than that.

Put me down for The Killing as well.

We don't have nearly enough Elisha Cook on BD (and no, I'm not kidding).

Picked up Videodrome, Army of Shadows and Robinson Crusoe on Mars from B&N for $31shipped after using a $22 giftcard..... cant beat 3 criterions for $10.33 each!

what other preorders are going to fall under the B2G1 sale?

I still think Close-Up is Kiarostami's best. Its an amazing work. It's considered one of the best of its decade.

Yup... i think a lot of their criterion blus are priced between $25 - $30 online now which, when combined with the B2G1 is just as good a deal as the 50% off.
I also added the 20% (visa) off one item coupon code. which gave me another $5 off

I want some of Kurosawa's non-samurai titles on Blu-ray, Dersu Uzala is the only one I've seen so far (which would make a great Criterion also, but it's not going to happen.)

Other titles I'm hoping for that could happen:
Andrei Rublev (so I can stop waiting for the Russian edition to come back in print)
Brazil
Bicycle Thieves
Blast of Silence
More Melville

You're welcome myka22! Please share what Criterions you ended up getting

Right now, I'm having a hard time choosing 2 out of the 4:

Videodrome
Cronos
Robinson Crusoe on Mars
Army of Shadows

Just wondering what would you guys choose if you had to pick 2 movies listed above (based on total package - PQ/AQ/Extras)?

I'm having a similar debate between The Red Shoes, and the two new Fuller releases, to go along with another that I definitely want.

I haven't seen it on blu, but I really enjoyed Robinson Crusoe, in part because of its colors and visuals, which I bet would look great in the new transfer.

*Edit: I decided to get both the Fuller titles, to go along with Pierrot le Fou. Here's hoping they are telling the truth when they say they have the Godard in stock. I will probably pick up The Red Shoes in the next sale.

Out of those Army of Shadows is a must, it's in a completely different league to the rest (which are all very B-grade.) For the second title I would personally pick Videodrome, as I'm not too fond of Cronos and not into cheesy vintage sci-fi. Cronos has the newest/best transfer of the lot though.

Thank you blkhrt for the Robinson Crusoe advice!

Pierrot le Fou
- I'm including that out of the 3, which is why I was having a hard time deciding to choose the other 2

I'm going to risk my chances of purchasing Pierrot le Fou now, since Amazon is showing only 6 left in stock.

Pyoko, initially Army of Shadows was my choice but from the reviews I've read on the Criterion forum, the grades for audio and extras were low.

Army of Shadows and Videodrome is what I would take, but Cronos is also a great film.
