Tell me about it...my wife and I were bored to tears M-W. Our son kept us entertained.

When the weather shows a snow storm coming, it is hilarious trying to see everyone scramble to the stores to buy out al the bread and water...like we're getting a nor'easter. We're never really "stuck" in our homes for more than a day, if that.

Our principal got the whole staff together and they had scenarios for missing 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, and we missed 5, so they're screwed

Whaaaat? Not to turn this into a moral debate, but to me there is a distinct difference between a cruel act against a human--a kid to boot--and animals. I love animals dearly and cruelty against them makes me sick to my stomach. However, when a kid gets affected by a sexual predator, it sticks with them for the rest of their life. Doesn't matter if they've "forgiven" the person or whatever--they'll be forever skewed by the event.

Yet despite all of that, I love Roman Polanski films and have no qualms buying them. But I've always been good at seperating the art from the artist.

I must say that while I think your arguments are stupid to the point of offense, I do actually agree with you that Polanski's films should be taken separately from his crimes. Just because he's a disgusting human being doesn't mean that Chinatown is any less great.

But by the same token, just because he made some good movies doesn't mean he can get away with the drugging and rape of a 13 year old girl.

Just to tie it all back together...I used to listen to a lot of Nine Inch Nails, even the stuff that was recorded in the Tate Mansion, which is where the Manson family murdered Polanski's wife...

And now, to bring it back to a Criterion related post: I actually thought that it would be cool if Criterion got the rights (don't even know if there are any based on the nature of this release) to the fan-made BD and DVD of their last tour, and released it themselves as part of their collection. The rationale being it is a first in the music industry where an artist sat back and watched the fans release a worthy product for a relatively low cost (shipping charge about $10). All while giving a big F-U to his old label.
