Wow, what an interesting read!! That was certainly cringe-worthy, to say the least! I was not familiar with that story...

Well, he recorded it...it just wasn't released. Not exactly "film", so...I see your point

And now, to bring it back to a Criterion related post: I actually thought that it would be cool if Criterion got the rights (don't even know if there are any based on the nature of this release) to the fan-made BD and DVD of their last tour, and released it themselves as part of their collection. The rationale being it is a first in the music industry where an artist sat back and watched the fans release a worthy product for a relatively low cost (shipping charge about $10). All while giving a big F-U to his old label.
Not as much as I used to back when Pretty Hate Machine first came out, but every once and a while I will put them on. I loved his soundtrack for The Social Network.

Never seen it, I just thought the words I used was very common in our language. But hey, to get that kiss, yes I did.

I'm amused that the 404 page on Criterion says " We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly."

Secretly, I like to believe that whoever does maintenance on the Criterion site dreads days like this knowing his email will get flooded.

For the love of all that's good and holy please let Criterion announce something before my 'unsuitable mental images' buffer fills up...

That would probably be pretty tricky to hash out. I don't know a lot about NIN, but I'm guessing the only way Criterion could license it would be to a) license the music from the owner (probably whoever the label was, unless NIN bought the rights to their songs--something most bands don't do because it costs a hella-lot) as well as license the film from the filmmaker.

Not to mention that a fan-made film is generally going to not be looked upon favorably by the (probable) label who owns the songs, so it might be something that they're not even keen on doing, regardless.

If you're a fan of bad cinema it's a must. For some reason this clip doesn't have his great delivery of "had to be done."

Also, I want some good titles for April. Let's do this Criterion

They made a movie about Armin Mewes called "Cannibal". It is a very graphic reenactment of the crime. Worth watching if you are a gorehound.
