No. Just one of the many jokes from earlier today.

Off topic, but what else are we doing. I'll summarize a few hundred pages of Star Wars posts. I'll try to be objective

Lucas long ago said he wants people to just forget the originals ever existed and the Special Editions are the only editions (although he has updated them on a few occasions). The unaltered films were only released once on DVD as non-anamorphic releases.

Some folks on the Star Wars thread like the theatrical releases. Some prefer the special edition. Some folks on the S.E. side of the argument seem to need to constantly preach how the theatrical fans are gigantic idiots and that only a very small minority would ever want to see the theatrical versions and that the theatrical fans are still gigantic idiots.

So any mention of the theatrical cuts is met with pages of bashing.

Hopper had gotten the rights to the movie before he died, right? I wonder who inherits them. Did Criterion ever express their interest?

Would you be upset if they released The American Dreamer with the Last Movie as an extra?

That is the questions I want answered. Hopper's Estate must have them, but they are in legal actions right now and I would love to know if Criterion atleast tried to get them or just sat on their butts.

That wouldn't make sense. It really should be Last Movie with American Dreamer, much like Night of the Hunter.

IF I'm disappointed, please believe that I am honest. It would mean I either own or have seen everything.

OK, CriterionCast gave one. So we can have surprises, no one else post anymore guesses.
