I added the photos to the "hints" I forgot about those...... Question, since it's brought up....

Is it still widely thought that 35 Shots of Rum is slated, given the now recent announcement of "White Material" ??

Hmm...

Finally got "Army of Shadows" today. Snow Storm really messed a lot of my orders up. Look forward to watching it tomorrow. I am excited about "Le Cercle Rouge." Great Film Noir. I haven't seen "White Material, Kes, or "Blow Out" though.

While I truly appreciate the foreign aspect of Criterion, I would like to see them release more "forgotten" or "underrated" U.S. films.

That sounds like an invitation for me to plug Charley Varrick again.

Don Seagal, Walter Matthau, Joe Don Baker, Andy Robinson and even a little Norman Fell...what more could you want.

i agree with you 100%. when the new years drawing came out and people were speculating it was one of them, i watched the trailer and and was overcome with that "i really need to watch this right now!" feeling. luckily april isn't too far off. Very happy that Fear and Loathing is getting the blu upgrade via Criterion. this also makes me hopeful that we'll also one day see Criterion's Dazed and Confused on blu, since its also a universal title.

Just watched Steamboat Bill, Jr. and Vanishing Point, so I missed out on much of the discussion...will say that I am most interested in the Melville, and will probably want to watch the others before buying. Not a bad month though, a lot of titles!

Haven't heard much from people here about the Fuller films next week. Are most passing up on those ones or what?

I watched Kes on Netflix recently and it definitely is reminiscent of The 400 Blows (there's more to it, of course...like for instance, um, a kestrel)... It's also one of those films that despite being in English will probably require English subtitles for a lot of American viewers because of the thick accents. I might just buy this one after all.
Thanks for the insight Joe. I appreciate it.
