No... I got the same thing in my email at 2am or so, saying "We'll send you an email" so I suspect sometime today I'll be getting the email.....
I wanted to get the code, and use it, then try to buy more (as to not get a cancellation) but I guess I can see why they do it this way ![]() |

without turning this into a 2D vs. 3D discussion (there are other threads for that, but indie/arthouse are gonna be using 3-D no matter what so it's only a matter of time):
what do you think will be the first Criterion BD3D release? |

saw elsewhere that they twittered about it..... saying they'll hit in-boxes this afternoon....
http://twitter.com/LivingSocial The "Shady-deal-people" are reporting that those who bought 100's of them will either get one, or none... as they "broke the rules" more or less. I ordered one, so we'll see...... I was reading (for more curiosity than anything) and there were people who bought (or tried perhaps) 500+ GCs each ![]() EDIT: The Social-living people (or whoever) are saying that the codes are "unique" and if you have more than one code somehow.... you better have more than one Amazon account, or you can't use it ![]() Last edited by Beta Man; 01-20-2011 at 02:11 PM. |

^stuff like that is happening. if the documentary/indie world is catching wind of 3-D, then it's here to stay. i don't think 3-D is a gimmick like it was in the 50s/60s. sooner or later it will happen. it's only a matter of time ![]() so many skeptics though ![]() |

As to "Chungking Express," I am inclined to think it is due to some kind of printing backorder issue.
I emailed Jon about my "Le Samorai" DVD missing the booklet, that I had ordered from Amazon. Amazon had taken down the "under review" notice and stopped offering it. He informed me that the booklet was on backorder and he would ship one out to me, once they got them in stock. It could be something along those lines with "Chungking Express." It is sad to see several sellers on Amazon and elsewhere claiming the title is OOP, to try and get sales. I imagine a lot of people are being duped. |

Speaking of out of print, I wish we had a dedicated thread for it on the main North American board so we can keep track of all releases, CC or not. I noticed this thread:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ie-thread.html Too bad it has not been updated in many months. It should be just for regular release though, not steelbooks. Ironically, I saw someone mention that the classic "Point Break" is OOP. Thankfully, I still have my copy, as my Keanu fix is needed once a year. ![]() |

DVDBeaver has some screenshots up of the Criterion "Double Life Of Veronique" Blu. Artificial Eye released an amazing Blu of this last year in the UK. The Criterion transfer looks a little more grainy, but not much different otherwise. The Criterion has a lower bitrate but a few more extras than the Artificial Eye. Overall looks to be about a draw to me.
