I've had this on my radar for a while, somewhere along the line I got the impression there's some classic jazz buried in this one in some manner (Mingus and Brubeck that I know of). One case where no PAL speedup will be worth the wait.

Not to belittle the other titles by any means. Looking forward to them as well.

My copy shipped out from amazon today but my copy of Eternal Sunshine didn't, usually they combine my pre order release day titles.

Interesting article. While I appreciate good cover art it doesn't tend to play into purchasing decisions too often but this might turn out to be an exception.

Much like the Blow Out cover, this has me just a bit more jazzed about seeing the film again. The shots of the menu screens didn't hurt either.

Nice postthat confirms Sweet Smell will be released in a paper case form. I have to buy these locally I can't chance amazon sending me a crushed cover box.

I do love the artwork.

Default Finally Hit 10!

After just learning about the fantastic Criterion Collection last month I've finally hit my 10th buy! I haven't seen most of the Criterion releases so I hope I'm off to a good start with these 10!

400 Blows
Army of Shadows
Bigger Than Life
Charade
Days of Heaven
M
Modern Times
Red Shoes
Seven Samurai
Thin Red Line

No where near the collections of most people on here

True, but your collection is still a lot better than most with those Criterions.

You can't get a better start with those selections. Good job.

There is a guy here, not sure if he wants me to name him or not so I won't, that is making custom criterion blu-ray covers for me. He has done RoboCop, Withnail and I & The Killer already and they look awesome. I am hoping to get covers for all the criterions that they never got to upgrade to blu but someone else did. Too bad the list is over 50 movies counting there LD releases, I am afraid he will burn out before even getting 1/3rd of them done

Mine usually ship Friday or Sat/Sun and I always get them on Tuesday It is annoying. I never have rec'd any of my Prime shipments early.

I have th purchase Color Purple in a store I can't risk bumped edges on a digibook. Haha

Both excellent films! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed ...Grain. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did! The 400 Blows is just excellent as well.

Great choices!

I opted for Topsy Turvy @ $25.99 and Blow Out for $27.99.

Basically, I paid $5.99 for TT.

Thanks to Beta Man for pointing us in the direction of this offer!!!

He's missing Che, Hunger and Revanche There's three more I definitely think he should have and I personally would have before a couple that are in his collection.

Pre-ordered The Double Life of Veronique for $24.99. I'll be honest, I've had the Artificial Eye version for a couple months now and I still haven't seen the movie. Shame on me.

I'm so glad that they are releasing the Criterion edition of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!" I've been holding off on purchasing it in hopes of that happening.

I'm hoping that this is the start of a trend with Universal and Criterion. I'd love to see CC release Spartacus on BD and use the great transfer that Robert Harris said existed and that Universal "should" have used, instead of the lesser quality transfer that they used and DNR'ed to excess.
