Hmmmmmmm...

B&N are shady. I ordered three criterions during the buy 2 get 1 free deal. Two shipped but they canceled Videodrome for some reason. Of course they charged me for the two, but never said anything about my "free" disc. Had to write the morons that run their "service" desk to note that they owe me a disc amounting to $27 or less. First they responded and asked for my order number even though it was clearly included in the subject of the email. Then a few days later they responded and said, yes, okay, they owe me a disc and that I can call their customer service line to order one. I called and there was an extensive wait to talk to someone. I hung up. Why should I have to waste my time calling them when they are trying to rip me off? I emailed them back and said can't you just resend Videodrome as, according to the site, it is back in stock. No response, no disc. Now I have to call them again. B&N ****ing sucks.

Criterion posted a photo of Jonathan Demme on Twitter, so it probably shouldn't be too much longer before "Something Wild" gets its official announcement.

As unlikely as it is, I am still hoping this is hinting at either a new version of Silence of the Lambs or Stop Making Sense.

Well, the speculation of "Something Wild" comes from a print with Criterion credits attached that played last year at the ATP Festival. So, as much as I would also welcome "Stop Making Sense" I don't see much else happening outside of "Something Wild" for now.

The "speculation" comes from Q&A session, where Criterion staff members confirmed that they were working on "Something Wild". It was before ATP Festival last year.

I am sure it is regarding Something Wild, however if they could issue The Silence of the Lambs that would be great cause if you compare the HD trailer on the current MGM blu-ray to the film presentation it is nite and day. That HD trailer is how the film should look. IMO

I still haven't upgraded my DVD copy for that very reason. I was hoping we would get a new version last year (20th anniversary), but since that came and went, I'm betting it won't be until the 25th anniversary.

And like I said, I know it it is unlikely that Criterion would release either Silence or Stop Making Sense, but they sure would be great.

I'm wondering why you just couldn't have typed RIMINI in all capital letters, Shell?

For those interested, you can go directly to Caitlin Kuhwald's website which has a link to her Etsy store. You can pick up a smaller (15" x 5.75") print of her "Amarcord" artwork for $30 plus shipping. It seems to be printed the same way as the Criterion version... only smaller.

I watch my "Stop Making Sense" DVD almost weekly..... yet I haven't convinced myself to spend the $20 on the Blu-ray given the reviews...... but I think I will.

I never bought the DVD Beta...but I have the BD version and it is certainly worth the money. A great performance and the audio sounds wonderful!

I strongly second rkish Beta. The PQ is a little rough, as expected from the theatrical version, but the audio is one of the better concerts you will hear. The range on Byrne is about as good as you will ever hear from him.
