man, and I was hoping for Ridley Scott's Legend ...

if Criterion is getting select Universal titles, they should give that a deluxe edition, and do a new 65mm scan/transfer of 'Spartacus' while they are at it.

I'm thinking about getting a new T.V., any suggestions from you guys without turning it into a T.V. thread? I just want to ask the ones I talk to on here, hence why I posted this here.

i have a Sony Bravia and it's marvelous. i don't know all the ins and outs of the TV business, and really only use it for some games and BD's and a little cable so i don't care if it has 1020HZ's and all that fun junk, but it definitely gets the job done.

and depending on what size screen you want, you could get a great set for under $800.

i'd stay away from Phillips though. nothing but short life spans in the LCD's i've had from them.

__________

in other news, watched my copy of Last Year at Marienbad earlier today. pretty sure i love it (second viewing) but probably still understand about a whole 5% of the damn thing.

Then don't do any research. When the disc comes out, buy it, and watch the film.

Hey, everyone. I just got my first Criterion and I was wondering if anyone takes the blue sticker off of the shrinkwrap and keeps it on the case. Just something I'm contemplating before I toss the wrap withe sticker on it, as if I decide to do it with future CC releases, I don't want to regret my decision.

Fat Girl is the same as the DVD from a few years ago. I wish CC would use alternate artwork for the blu-ray upgrades but I understand they want to keep continuity

i don't. but that is kind of a neat idea.

if i were you and were contemplating it, i would keep it for now, so in case you decide not to, all you have to do is throw them away instead of throwing it away now and then deciding you wanted all of them.

Surprisingly, I try to cut open the shrink wrap so I can slip the blu-ray in and out of it. If/when that doesn't work (which is like 70% of the time), I do indeed remove and replace the sticker on the blu.

CG, I assume you mostly like to watch films? If so, get a plasma, preferably from Panasonic, as they are the' best bang for your buck' for picture quality. Make sure that it does 24fps also(the hz will be a multiple of it, like 72hz, or 48hz, as that will keep a smooth 'film-like' appearance on screen in theory. You can normally get a good one for under $1k, depending on size and features. I'm sure others will recommend too, but that is my .02 as for an affordable model.

For those keeping up with the BLOW OUT bonus features I think and correct me if I'm wrong but I think they werent sure if the classic Travolta interview and the early De Palma’s film "Murder à la Mod" It seems that "Murder à la Mod" is back on as a bonus feature.
