I know it was reporting as out of stock about 30 minutes after I ordered it - so maybe 90 minutes into the sale... for what it's worth

I'll apologize now.... because I know if I get every title I ordered at the $15.98 price, I'm going to be VERY happy with the extremely significant savings over Amazon!

It's back-ordered..... just be patient, this isn't Amazon Prime we're talking about!

Inside the packaging, you should have a 'packing list' in the form of a UPS Label sized printout. I think it may even be a label. Anyway, look at the listing, it should have a 1 for items shipped if it was in there, a 0 if it is on backorder.
Yeah I have a 0 next to Lost and Found. I ordered it hours into the sale, so I guess I'm just going to have to wait. I just wish I would have gotten some sort of email confirmation about the status of orders. Also the order status on the website doesn't distinguish if an order got separated. I've never ordered from the website before so I'm just not used to it.

I just saw a print of Godard's 1980 "Every Man For Himself" at a local independent cinema and found it fascinating - as focused and insightful as his new wave output, but more somber and grounded instead of romantic and fantastical. I'm amazed this has never been released on DVD in region 1. Even worldwide I'm not sure where I'd get it - the UK DVD is out of print and people want crazy money on the 2nd-hand market, and the only other release I know about is a French one as part of a 10-film set. Not really a great import prospect. I'd like to see Criterion or MoC or someone get this out there.

in people minds do you think the red shoes is worth it for around 18.86 new, shipped. I have it in my gold box for 21.84 and then a 2.98 promotion code for amazon

Judging by your collection and that price, I would say definitely.

What a fantastic film and presentation--one of my favorites.

Does anyone think Le Samourai will get a release within the next year or two? I love that film.

prob next year, but I don't see another Melville UPGRADE this year with 2 already. If anything, they are sitting on new Melvilles' like one that I like, Un Flic.

The Red Shoes is worth the original MSRP. There really aren't many better.

Yes, the offer and posts on the FB page explicitly stated in-stock merchandise (and that the 50% was off MSRP) so that's what I understood at the time of the sale. However, some of the guys here were able to apply the discount to pre-orders.

I'm really excited to watch it again and in hi-def this time!
Also, I just decided to act on Le Cercle Rouge in my Goldbox for $26.50. This is probably THE heist movie as far as I'm concerned (apologies to Rififi).

Does anyone know where to buy the Scanavo CBR-101 cases Criterion uses for their Blu-ray releases? I tried e-mailing Scanavo directly but got no where. Not sure if they would even deal with consumers.

I know Criterion would send me some, $5 for the first two and then $2.50 for any case after, but that seems a tad expensive for blank Blu-ray cases with no art.

Hmm, how blind buy friendly is Sweet Smell of Success?

It showed up in my Gold Box for $23.74 and I have $20 of credit from my Killzone 3 order so needless to say its a nice deal....

I finally watched it on TCM about a month ago. It's a solid movie--good story, good characters, believable and all that. However, I'm not sure if I'll ever watch it again. I certainly don't feel compelled to at present. That said, I've bought Criterion Blu-rays I don't plan on watching again simply because the price was under $20 (eBay).

Hmm, it seems to have a noirish vibe, and I'm a sucker for work by great cinematographers so those were pushing me towards it....
