I agree. I saw the doc several years ago. I do think it's an important film but I'm not buying it on Criterion blu. For me it's a one and done film.

For me, it was worth it for Marty and Patterns alone. I still have to watch half the set, too.

it was between the golden age of tv set or stagecoach with last year at marienbad, and if i had to choose i would have gotten the 2 blu ray movies instead of the tv set.

I tend to rewatch documentaries more than feature films.

Beta,
Are you going to use some of your "Third Man" BD's as trade material, or holding on to them to flip later, so that you can help fund more purchases?

I enjoyed "Two-lane Blacktop." Warren Oats' character was the star of the movie, in my opinion.

Probably going to try to score some of the harder-to-get DVDs I've been after.

so I finally had the one criterion preorder in my gold box i was waiting for
The Great Dictator, so i used my 2 dollar credit on it and now i have it for 25 dollars =)

also just sent an email to some guy on craigslist selling used criterion laser discs for 5 dollars each to see what he has, since there are a few I would like to have just cause. Once I get the list I could post it here, in case people wanted any of the laser discs

Watched Army of Shadows (Had it for six weeks) for the first time last night. Absolutely superb movie. The 2 1/2 hours flew by. Gonna sit down and watch the extras some point today.

I am in San Diego. I still haven't gotten the email but on the posting from craigslist the seller said he had a bunch of laserdiscs including criterion for 5 dollars each. I am not sure the ones I would get but if he has it I would for sure want trainspotting and maybe akira. The rest would be determined on what he had

Good to hear that, I'm planning to blind buy it next month.

Btw I had a similar experiece yesterday with The Wages of Fear. Seen it for the first time and I was truly amazed, such a brilliant movie.

I just got a Blu Ray copy of The Third Man. What would everyone's suggestion be about selling my dvd copy. Ebay, Amazon Marketplace, Amazon trade-in, or keep it for later selling? I have never used Ebay or Amazon Marketplace. Are they easy to use? Plus do you get a good price?
