Choices...do I sit in my office and wait for the announcements, or pick up my son from day care...?

Thanks, Criterion, for making me choose between your announcements and my son.

Looks like I will be back on when I get home...hopefully the waiting game will be over!

Enjoy everyone! I hope you all get what you wish for!

For me the release of the year (so far) was The Double Life of Véronique, in spite of my already having the UK edition.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for Children of Paradise. And Beauty and the Beast as well - I guess these are my two most wanted from their catalogue. As for new additions to the collection, I suppose Persona might come soon and, hopefully, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. With all these released, I think I can take it easier.

Well, that's my 2nd favorite.. Kieslowski is my favorite filmmaker, along with Bergman, but since I already had the Artificial Eye blu-ray I wasn't AS pumped about Criterion's version, but I picked it up anyway. But good choice! What a wonderful film.

Children of Paradise is short on my wish list as well.

Even though Criterion hasn't posted yet, the Criterion Cast post is up with all the artwork...

I hope he asks soon because it's a pretty good question.

I'd ask it myself but I'm worried there might be a pretty good answer and I would look dumb.

I like that "The Makioka Sisters" has a lower price point. That's something that should be incorporated into the "Something Wild" disc, as well.

Nothing immediately jumps out as a must-buy for me, kind of a relief since there are so many potential titles from the month prior to that on my list. Maybe People On Sunday.

And why is The Makioka Sisters so cheap?

Forgive me if it's obvious...... by "why" does it justify a lower price point?

EDIT:

and why would "Something Wild" warrant a lower price?

Interesting there are no upgrades from DVD to BLU for June. Will buy Black Moon for sure.

It's obvious to me, but here goes...

"The Makioka Sisters" release only has a trailer listed for the supplements, which I'm assuming is why there's a lower MSRP.

As for "Something Wild," other than the trailer it only has one bulleted "interviews" supplement.

I'll likely pre-order Kiss Me Deadly and trash my vhs asap. Will also buy People on Sunday. Been reading references to that for years. All others will rent. I've seen Insignificance but it's been a while.

Sounds like they will have the "restored" ending for Kiss Me Deadly as a supplement. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

That would make sense then..... I don't typically look at what supplemental material is included, until I receive it.... that is, if it's a title I don't already have.

I'm in for Kiss Me Deadly. I can watch a noir no matter the mood I'm in.

More noir on blu is always good
