Agreed. Wilder's writing credit alone has definitely piqued my interest in People on Sunday.

Yeah, for me something like that is in the same boat as Rosemary's Baby or Chinatown. All three are near the top of my overall wish list but there's relatively little point to hoping Criterion goes after them.

Not only is getting them extremely unlikely, the benefits would be marginal. The eventual studio releases of titles like that are almost certain to be pretty damn good if not as good as a Criterion release.

That's why I did kind of a double-take at the 12 Angry Men news. That's a great movie but it's not like it would have fallen through the cracks.

Jon Mulvaney forwarded me your email. I don't know about Criterion's schedule, but Janus Films is planning a re-release of WEEKEND at some point in 2011.

it's funny that you mention that. i'm going to try to keep this ambiguous, just in case folks do read our little forum, so sorry for some of the vagueness. i recently became acquainted with someone via one of the many social networking things out there, and we were discussing the june releases. he brought up Badlands, and i said i always hear people asking for it but have never seen any form of confirmation about it. it turns out that this dude works for a company that does publicity for one of Badlands main stars and he had a chance to meet said star and asked simply about Badlands coming to bluray. Said star replied, "it's on its way! Criterion!".

i'd take it with a grain of salt, as it was simply an internet conversation, but the person in question seemed rather legit. figured this might make a couple of you out there stoked/crazy. either way: success.

I was going to buy Carlos yesterday but in dvdbeaver's review it was mentioned that there will be a Criterion release. Any guess on how much longer the wait will be (does July-August sound about right?)

OMFG, just ordered the passion of joan of arc as well as haxan dvd for 6.98 after shipping. the guy had them listed for 0.01 cent each and 2.98 shipping
