My avatar is in PNG format so it would open in a graphics prgram with a transparent background if you save and open it. Then it would just be a matter of resizing it and then copying and pasting it on top. And changing the color and/or opacity depending on what you would want to do with that.

I only have the UK edition. Is the Criterion one that much better?

Actually they both look pretty much the same, it's just that it's one of my favorite movies in the whole Criterion Collection, so its release on blu-ray by CC is something special.

I have a few lined up on my Wishlist that I feel like ordering soon.

Bigger Than Life
Charade
Paths of Glory
Red Desert
Sweet Smell of Success

And others, but mostly those five. My next buy will most likely be SSOS as the packaging alone makes me salivate.

'Kiss Me Deadly' appeared in my Gold Box for $26.50 so I figured that was an automatic preorder. I don't know how I haven't seen this movie because noir is my favorite genre, and it must be the biggest one I haven't seen. I love watching black-and-white on Blu.

EDIT: Der Spieler, the film and blu-ray SSoS is awesome; you should buy it.

You cannot go wrong with getting SSOS first, but I think Paths of Glory should definitely be your next one. So amazing.

I was just about to buy the 9 digipac replacement cases and the price is now almost double. This sucks.

Yeah the replacement cases are a little steep, to say the least.

What program are you using, photoshop? It be easier to use Illustrator or InDesign, and you can draw the "C" as a path.
FYI, the font Criterion uses for their text is Gotham.

$45 for empty cases is more than I can justify right now. I wonder if they will bring back the discounted price eventually.

Sorry, forgot about having to pay shipping now. $50.

Is 'The Third Man' sealed digibook worth more than the one in the clear plastic case? In the context of rarity.

One case to Canada cost me 10$, so consider yourself lucky...

I'll mess around with it. Thanks.

BTW, I am going to use my custom cover as my DVD cover (without the custom Criterion parts) since the Les Carabiniers dvd artwork on my dvd isn't anything great. I am also making a back cover and prob one for my Le Petit Soldat dvd.

I don't have photoshop, I'm just using a couple of paint programs I have downloaded for a while, hence why I can't pull the photoshop "C" job. Thanks for the text info though, as I haven't finished, so that helps.

Just ordered SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS from an Amazon.ca third party. 34$ shipped, seemed fair!

The clear plastic case is much more rare, as long as it's sealed.

For me, Paths of Glory and Red Desert are easily the strongest on the list. I'm indifferent about Charade. Sweet Smell of Success if very good. Bigger than Life is okay but nothing special.

I don't know about CHARADE. One of my friends told me it was like "a bad Hitchcock". But I'm a fan of good ol' Cary Grant and that movie always piqued my curiosity. I'll definitely get RED DESERT as soon as my Zavvi order manages to reach me (it's been 20 days...) so I can sell my region B BFI.

I love PATHS OF GLORY but I own the DVD so I'm somehow less in a rush to shell out 30$ for it but I'll probably do it anyway. The Criterion Blu looks glorious.

Charade is among my favorite criterion releases so far (especially when it comes to rewatchability... Which can be a problem with criterion releases at times). The chemistry between Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn is great. It's just a really fun film all around, IMO.
