My art numbered 558 is due to arrive tomorrow from Amazon.... I completely forgot that I had to order it from them.....

I got tracking info for my shipment of art-works #559, #330, #557, and #339 FRIDAY, directly from Criterion, and I keep checking the number they gave me, and USPS says

There is no record of this item.
Is is possible they shipped it via UPS? I was expecting to receive it BEFORE the release date, not after

Hopefully it shows up tomorrow, whether they update the tracking or not.

I sold my original copy of the "Salo" DVD on eBay for $400 around 2005 just so that I could buy a 30GB iPod. That was the easiest money I ever made, I'm sure.

Sounds almost as good as a friend selling his Runescape account for $800 in middle school.

USPS is usually terrible at updating that stuff. Try pasting the tracking number into google search and see if you get the option to track a UPS package.

Yeah, the longer the comedy, the less funny it seems.

I've never seen Blow Out, but I am going to get this as soon as it comes out. It just looks so cool. De Palma? 80's? Forget about it.

I'm not a huge DePalma fan but Dressed to Kill, Blow Out and Scarface do have pretty solid nostalgia appeal (though I would say Dressed to Kill and Blow Out have a much stronger 70s feel to me).

Great cover though

Default de palma

Can't forget the underrated Body Double. Nobody does 80s sleaze like De Palma.

Default Paths of Glory

I finally got around to watching my old MGM DVD of Paths of Glory.
It's been sitting on the shelf for years waiting patiently for me to watch it. I knew it was a great film, having seen it on TV over a decade ago, but I'm not sure why I waited so long to put it in the machine.
Loved watching it again.
As soon as I finished, I put the Criterion copy into my Amazon cart
I hope the rumours/speculation about The Killing are correct; I'll definitely upgrade that to a Criterion blu-ray.

The only De Palma I can say I sort of was ok with is The Untouchables but I suppose it's probably the most accessible movie he as made

I'm seeing a lot of talk about De Palma and no mention of Carlito's Way.
Easily one of my favourite films of the 90s.
I've already got two DVD editions and I'll probably upgrade it to blu-ray as well

Yeah, but to keep them in mint condition you should probably get a second set that you can leave in the shipping package. That way you can have one to look at and another that stays pristine--you won't have to worry about the damage your eyes might cause.

That's a great idea.... I won't even have to damage the Criterion shipping label on the box they shipped in that way.

Don't forget to protect the art from dust and the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

I suggest leaving the second set in the shipping box.

Let's keep this on topic, please. And by the way, it would save you money if you just didn't order it and left the package in the Criterion warehouse. This way, you won't get fingerprints on it if it were sent to you and you actually decided to remove it from the shipper.

...just sayin'.

May I change the subject? I know you guys love your Criterion covert arts but it's almost on the same line.

Does Criterion change shipping if you buy a replacement case? I am thinking of getting one for The Last Emperor but their shipping is a bit crazy for Canada which is the reason I never order from them
