Watched Charade last night and liked it very much. It did look like an Hitchcock movie but not like a pale copycat. I thought the photography and directing were flawless and I liked the little sexual edge provided by Audrey Hepburn.

Glad you enjoyed it. I really like the film as well. Yeah, she's quite something, especially in Charade.

true, but if he spends $20 (on a 5-pack with shipping) he may be able to sell the individual cases for 4 or 5 and recoup all his money with a case left over to use.

oh well.

are the cases only available via CC shop?

I just received Wings of Desire and it is the only one of my criterions i've ever gotten with a security label on it.

Many of the earlier Criterion blu-rays had security stickers across the top before Criterion started using the heat-shrink plastic wrap.

This is a complete (hopeful) guess, but I'll say Tokyo Story is one of the titles finally announced for blu-ray!

I think it's safe to discount the August release dates in the NY Times as bogus. At this point I'd be more apt to believe release dates printed by the Daily Worker.

I don't know. They better have that Vigo set to keep these months with 1 awesome release going (People on Sunday, The Music Room, the Jean Vigo set?). Other than that, whatever they want to release, doesn't matter.

I've got a question about the packaging on "Fat Girl".

I remember back in the day, DVDs from Fox had a weird glue strip on the spine to keep the cellophane on. When you removed the cellophane you had a sticky grey mess on the spine.

When I received "Fat Girl" it had the same thing. I've never experienced this on a Criterion Blu-ray before. Did anyone else experience this?

My FAT GIRL was the same way, too. I even commented to myself that it was the first time I can remember that happening with a Criterion release. I wonder what the difference was between this film and all their others as far as the packaging is concerned...
