If I had to guess, I would say that we will get Wild Strawberries, The Killing and Carlos this month, and hopefully Vigo as well. As far as other titles, I will always guess Passion of Joan of Arc until it happens, and would love to see Ghost World as well.

The film, like Clouzot's Diabolique, is the best Hitchcock film not made by the master of suspence himself if you know what I mean. I liked the (sexual) tension betwee Hepburn and Grant and laughed my @ss off with all the jokes made about the difference in age which is basically every scene! ![]() |

In dreamier fare Criterion’s Blu-ray edition of the greatest of all fantasy films, Jean Cocteau’s “Beauty and the Beast,” arrives July 19. Roman Polanski’s macabre comedy “Cul-de-Sac” makes its debut on DVD and Blu-ray on July 26, as does Jean-Pierre Melville’s “Leon Morin, Priest” starring Jean-Paul Belmondo. On Aug. 2 Cocteau makes his second home video appearance of the summer with the DVD and Blu-ray release of his “Orpheus.” The same day the complete works of Jean Vigo arrive, including his only feature, “L’Atalante,” one of the most lyrical and profoundly |

The Killing is still a favorite of mine and I wouldn't mind if it were next in line. It's a gimme that it's coming out at some point in the near future. Did someone say Tokyo Story? ![]() |
