This. It's one of the most implausible endings I've ever seen.

Not to change the wonderful discussion about Michael Bay, but I just got back from Amoeba Records in Hollywood and picked up a few DVDs that I'm looking forward to watching: Sisters, Grey Gardens, The Fugitive Kind, Rashomon.

Amoeba's prices tend to be too high for many of their movies, but they have the largest Criterion section I've seen in any store, both Blu and DVD.

I wonder why Killer's Kiss does not get it's own release, is it because it is so short?

I got it today with Diabolique. Not gonna watch it tonight, but I'll definitely give my two cents on it this week when I get to it.

Picked it up last week but have yet to watch it. For some reason HMV in Canada listed a ton of Criterion as out on the 10th including June releases but this is the only one they had got in. Would have been great had they actually got them all in

Masterpiece, go for it. (not for the Fincher fanclub, maybe). By the way, on the Fincher/Bay subject (oh, boy...), it's kinda funny that the average fanboy always cites "Fight Club" to legimitate his opinion, when this is probably the worst crap he ever committed to celluloid (video-game with a change-your-life message ? aw, give me a break) - and normally they stay away from Zodiac, which (for me at least) is by far his greatest accomplishment.

Fight Club is awesome. Zodiac is awesome. Fincher is awesome. Criterion is also kinda cool. That's it.

Fincher might be the greatest American director working today behind Scorsese and Speilberg. What's with the hate?

I don't get it, are you trying to say that, since it's a book adaptation, obviously it's awesome ?
Or are you telling that, since it's a book adaptation, it can't look like a video-game ?
Man, the fact that it's source is a book doesn't mean absolutely nothing. It can be a good adaptation from a good book, a bad adaptation from a good book, a bad from a bad book, and YES, it CAN look like a video-game AND be adapted from a book ! WOW !
And yeah, i sustain my word, mediocre movie, "90's" (in a bad way) screaming all over it, and boy, movies that are more interested in "sending a message" than in just being cinema (or, if i should say so, art) usually suck - unless you're a 15 y.o. kid and that "c'mon, change your life!" stuffed in every frame still isn't that ridiculously obvious (or tedious) and still "makes all sense".

Oh Boy! I WIN! I WIN! Now I have this forum all to my self with so many things to do. So many activities! Now out of respect for you, here seems to be your fav smilie, and don't worry, I'm sure 98% of this Blu-ray forum thinks Fincher is awesome, so you can find people that share your same opinion.

But for real, don't call me pretentious. You have Anti-things all over your sig. Very hip and snobby to do.

No hate, if you read the posts you'll see that we're even saying that he has good films. The problem is in your first sentence : the man is totally over-over-over-rated. And Scorsese and Spielberg, the best living American directors ?
Have you ever heard of David Lynch, Abel Ferrara, Brian De Palma, John Carpenter, Gus Van Sant, Michael Mann, Terrence Malick, Michael Cimino, Clint Eastwood ? - and that's just for starters...

Fincher isn't even on the toplist of the "new generation", Tarantino and James Gray are way better directors (just staying in the US, of course, because if we go worldwide, then things get way more complicated to him...)

James Gray and Paul Thomas Anderson are the best directors from that 90's crop (Fincher, Quentin, etc), FOR ME anyways. I like Zodiac, but that's about it.
