Watched "Come and See" a bit ago. I would love for Criterion to do something with it...

I'm pretty sure Kino has the rights to do something with that one, but I agree. I'd love to see it on Blu.

According to Kino on Facebook, look for a restored version on Blu in 2012

I ordered Black Narcissus, as I'm not sure if the B&N sale will coincide with my parents' trip to New England (July 2-10). Mom offered to buy Blus down there for me, along with a Nook Color, since they don't want to sell them to Canadians. I still have a huge list of Criterions I want, including several pre-orders that sound interesting, but most of what's left on my wishlist will be blind buys. I may start picking them up one at at time, provided the dollar stays high.

I'm really itching to get Solaris too. I'm even on the verge of breaking my cardinal rule against buying a Criterion that isn't at least half-off.

I'd also like to see the remake again one of these days. I can't say I liked it but I certainly didn't hate it as much as the general consensus seems to.

I found The White Ribbon surprisingly flat. It had very good moments but it really should have been right in my wheelhouse but for some reason it just didn't click with me the first time through. But Sony definitely did an excellent job with it. It's hard to imagine a better transfer. A cooler cover, maybe, but not a better transfer.

So that would be, what...

Added to my instant queue...thanks CC! Once I get through as many of the departing Criterion streams as possible, I'll give it a view.

I thought there were Criterion rumors for this? Either way, I think I'll have to buy it.
The Sony disc is beautiful (with the exception of some roughing in one scene with smoke).

Very pleased with the release.

Not really Criterion related, not yet though.

Interesting insight on the filming of Malick's Tree of Life from Emmanuel Lubezki.

My order from 02/24 is processing. Looks like they'll ship it.

$63.92 for 4 Criterions, At first they sent me an e-mail saying my credit card had expired. I was like WTF? I put 2012 as the expiration year. A few minutes later I received an e-mail saying it was processed, hmm.

Another with the same experience.

The site Criterion links to confirm ones payment, http://staging.criterion.com/, doesn't seem to take my username/password from the Criterion site either (and is an insecure connection.. though I think the Criterion site once one views their order is also insecure even though it displays partial payment info).

They hit me with the same e-mail about the expired card, then sent a confirmation e-mail a few minutes later. Must have been a glitch. Finally the last 2 pre-orders from that wonderful facebook sale have shipped. I am so happy, and my wallet too, that they honored those $16 prices.

Upon inspecting the booklet again there is also some scoring along the edge of the booklet.
Not in the same place, but it looks exactly like how mine is torn. Plus I have small tears and scoring along the edge of pretty much all the pages. On the plus side Army of Shadows is now one of my favorite films. It is slower then Le Cercle Rouge, but really pulls you in. The extra's on the French Resistance were interesting as well. I wish Amazon would have more sales on Criterion titles. There are so many more I want.
