You mean 3 for 2?? I would hate to pay for 3 movies and only get 2 for that price!

And yes, the B&N sale in June has been confirmed to start on June 7th, running into July...but I forget when it is supposed to end.

They're speaking of the Facebook 50%-off sale that Criterion had when they reached 50,000 followers. Some of the people that got in early on the sale were able to grab the upcoming pre-orders for 50%-off, as well, before Criterion put a stop to it.

To be honest, it's going to be a double-bill that day for me. Woody's Midnight in Paris and Malick's Tree of Life. Can't wait

Looks like a type of foil style font! (Or do my eyes deceive me?)
For Pro B or others who have the blu already is that a shiny foil style font? Something tells me the DVD might be and posssibly they weren't able to do so for the blu version. Or is the light playing games with the image?

Does anyone have any suggestions for shipping a Criterion film without the case breaking? I know that the place I ordered "Still Walking" from used an unpadded envelope, and the case got multiple cracks in transit.

Do you live near a store that sells Criterion films? If so, buy from them. It may cost more money, but you should never have this problem again.

Suggestion
Wrap the case in, at least, 2" of large Bubble Wrap® brand air cellular cushioning material and place inside a double-walled (6.84mm thick) corrugated box so that the case snugly fits. Any loose packaging can lead to damage.

Well, I work for a display company designing products, so I'm always having to think ahead about the packaging and how certain displays can possibly survive the beatings from UPS and FedEx carriers.

And yes, the B&N sale in June has been confirmed to start on June 7th, running into July...but I forget when it is supposed to end.
The 3 for 2 deal at B&N isn't better than Amazon's regular prices for Criterion Blu-rays and STD DVDs. B&N prices their normal single Criterion blu's at $39.99 where two would run you $79.98 plus tax plus one free with the promo. $79.98 x 1.07 (sales tax rate assumption) = $85.58 for three divided by 3 = $28.53 per Criterion blu with this deal. Amazon generally prices the same items at $27.99 ea. (early pre-order price), or sometimes less, w/o sales tax and free shipping.

If you can be disciplined (which is rather difficult to be sure) and hold off and wait, the B&N Criterion half off sale is by far the way to go; for in stock items and also for pre-orders.

If there are 50% coupons for members and non-members it'll make the 3 for 2 promotion even sweeter. Promotion plus coupons, plus membership discount = win. I doubt they'll have 50% off coupons with this promotion, but one can dream,

Three Criterions for $34 ain't bad.

($39.99 * 0.9 * 0.9 * 0.5) = $16.20 (10% Classcode, 10% Membership, 50% Member Coupon)
($39.99 * 0.9 * 0.9 * 0.5) = $16.20 (10% Classcode, 10% Membership, 50% Non-Member Coupon)

Third title you get free.

$32.40 * 1.0625 (MA Sales Tax) = $34.43.
~11.48 per Criterion.

I think it comes out around the same if this promotion overlaps the 50% off Criterion sale in July (with no coupons).

Last 3 for 2 deal new release criterions were 26-28 online which made it a good deal. criterions are rarely 39.99 online.

Assuming there are no other discounts, the deal is not worth it. However, like someone posted already, the CC's always have 10% off at B&N, plus 10% off for membership fees. That alone usually makes it under $25 per title, which is ok by me.

If I wait until July to get them all, I won't have the $. Spacing them out, buying some in June, and some in July, makes more sense economically for me.

YES! I forgot about that. We don't get our 10% off for membership but the prices were already over 10% off per title online. Shipping is free as well. Some were in the $31 price range, so with tax, it is still under $25 per title.
