Because of that screenshot that was released a while back.

I just finished The Decalogue, actually. I wouldn't mind both.

It may not concern Criterion (yet), but I saw Tree of Life today and it's sublime. I just can't get over how beautiful it is

Oshima's Youth Trilogy would be a great blu release. Oshima's compositions and colors are beautiful, and I love the style his earlier films ooze.

Last year's Nov they had 10 blu discs, so I expect them to at least tie or better that mark this year w/ 2 boxes and some singles .

I really want them to release these on Blu too, along with Carnival of Souls, and Jigoku.
Those four plus Eyes Without a Face and Kwaidan.

I'm really excited to see Secret Sunshine getting a Criterion release. I believe this is the first Korean film to ever get the Criterion treatment on any medium. I'm hoping we'll get more Korean films in the future.

Actually the worst part is this: Since everyone over here is so f...ing excited about watching every movie dubbed I will most likely not be able to watch the film in 6 days but rather be busy finding a movie theatre that actually screens The Tree of Life in english.
Wow, German is not the language I would want to pair with Malick.

I can only imagine the German dub of Days of Heaven, better known as "Achtung: Weizen!"

I like the Movies of Nagisa Oshima very much but compared to Shohei Imamura, his nouvelle japanese vogue college, I think he lacks in style, also Imamura has a much fresher and faster moving upbeat approach. Both where in a way opposing the old masters like Ozu or Mizoguchi Kenji but I think Imamura is more distinctive.

It's just German not Nazi-German.

I would love a Blu-ray update for Vengeance is Mine. (Criterion region A, I know there is a MOC region B version but it is in a different aspect ratio then Criterion's 1.66)

If/when they upgrade any Imamura, I hope it's The Pornographers first.

If it's not an upgrade they could buy options on the Eel.
If upgrade Pornographers is always good starting point.

I emailed John at Criterion to see if he would be willing to send a print to the UK, he wasn't. Does anyone have any ideas how to get around this?, it was the Vivre Sa Vie print btw. Thanks.

Why not order on Amazon USA like everybody else it's easy and they deliver into almost any country. But don't forget all Criterion Blu-rays are Region code locked. Won't play on a UK Blu-ray player.

On the other hand I'm not the biggest fan of the posters from Criterion.
But cheaper than this one

Is the Phantom Carriage any good? Never saw the Movie and I like silent movies up to certain point, I love for example Faust by Murnau, could be The Phantom Carriage in that direction?

Just know the movie in terms of influence to Bergman's Seventh Seal which is great.
