I hope so. But why would they tease it for their September releases?

The newsletter clues aren't tied to a specific month. It just means it will come at some point.

November would make sense, since it will probably come after the Cat People release (if it is Cat People).

Haven't seen many of these so I'll be saving. No blind buys on these. I'd have to see them first.

Would either of the Chabrol films be a better starting point for someone who has never seen any of his films?

Considering they are his first films, and the first of the New Wave, what better way then to start with them.

I was wondering whether one of these films would be a better introduction to his films then the other. (if you had to suggest only one of the two films offered by Criterion this month)

It's a toss up. If you just want to go in order by release date, Le beau Serge (being the first film of the French New Wave), but if you want to go by awards, Les Cousins won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.

After a quick look at the storyline for each film, I would say that Le Beau Serge looks like something that I could relate to. I find the concept of time and it's effects on people and places interesting, especially when these effects are not witnessed firsthand due to an extended absence. Thanks for the info Spiderbaby.

Here's hoping a certain film and its inevitable 6-hour director's cut make it into the collection. I needn't name names

I just love Amazon Canada. They tell me that Diabolique won't ship until Mid-July, when Naked and The Phil Ochs doc I ordered are released. They shipped it today via UPS. It's ironic because Canada Post started a lockout today. Meanwhile, My copy of Senso just left Amazon US via DHL, which means it's going to not show up any time soon. I don't get their shipping methods, it's hit or miss.

Head is not a silly movie that deserves zero stars. Head is a 5 star film, IMHO. I can understand it not being everyone's cup of tea, but still, worse than A Safe Place and Drive, He Said? Uh-uh. The fact that it has no discernable plot is the beauty of it, as it reflects the confusion and social upheval of the time, and the fact that the Monkees were trying to break out of their image. It's also a deconstruction of media and Hollywood. Fantastic music, and really great cameos Also, Peter Tork is very, very, pretty.

All, I'm looking to sell the majority of my Criterion titles to free up some cash - what is the consensus around here: eBay or the Trading Forum?

Of course I'd like to sell as an entire lot, but I don't think that is in the cards - and is leading me to ask here. List individually in the trade forum or eBay?

Depends on your prices I guess.

Ebay. In my opinion, you will sell your items faster and at a better price. From what I have seen on the here, the Criterion trade thread receives very little action.

I'm expecting at least one of the October titles to be Kuroneko (House was released in Oct. of last year). Onibaba is another possibility.

I'm also looking forward to Three Colors. I actually haven't seen the films yet. I've been holding out for Blu-ray.
