with the upcoming sale, how much would the average CC-blu-ray cost?
Well the list price for most criterions is 39.95 so it should run you just under 20 for most, but then there are coupons that can be used also

They're hasn't been any coupons released yet since the sale is a good 3 weeks away (if the rumors are correct). You could go through the deals thread and see what there was. Some of the coupons were $5 off if you spend $50, 20% a single item, and of course the 10% off for members which applies all the time.

I just ordered Seven Samurai, Le Cercle Rouge, and 8 1/2 from Amazon for $23, $17, and $12 respectively! I'm pretty excited as I haven't seen any of them. The only used Criterion I've bought from Amazon was Revanche and it showed up in great shape. I hope it's the same for these.

Thanks. I am a cheapskate, but I'm proud of it. I want to get the best deal possible on my movies, especially where I'm importing it to Canada, so the price is going to be more than what the average American pays anyways, as I don't get free shipping.

My copy of Diabolique has a cracked case, but it's only a small one. I'm sounding blasphemous here, but I don't mind. To me, the movie is more important than the packaging.

I think that the film Little Children would be a fantastic addition to the Criterion Collection. Just watched it last night for the first time since the first time I seen it in 2007. Great film and awesome narration.

Generally no, but a few pre-orders slip in every now and then..

I can't decide which Criterion to get. I like C.C. that has awesome replay value. I can't decide if I want to get some film Noir with Kiss Me Deadly, or preorder High and Low. I have an AMZ gift card I want to burn before my wife decides to download something for her Kindle

If there is a way to get both Kiss Me Deadly and High and Low, you should probably get both. Knowing your love for Asian cinema, it seems you might favor High and Low. Maybe you'd prefer Pale Flower. Really awesome Asian film noir right there for ya.

Does someone own the Box set?
There is a review of Blue at blubeaver. Apparently, very disappointing disc.
The films in this set are 1080/50i, not 1080p.
Hopefully, the Criterion release will do the trilogy the justice it deserves.

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like Pale Flower is the winner for right now. (Ordering now) Will buy Kiss Me Deadly when the B & N sale starts, and hopefully they will let me pre order High and Low as well. If not, oh well I can always hit click and order it from Amazon

Pale Flower is a very interesting and beautiful film. (it is probably the blind buy that I have most enjoyed so far this year) The audio/visual presentation on the Criterion BD is excellent.

I haven't seen Pale Flower but plan on watching it very soon. On the other hand I have seen High and Low and it is my second favorite Kurosawa film (my first being Seven Samurai) which is saying a lot because I have seen most of his movies. You really can't go wrong with High and Low, but it's your choice

Default The Rules of the Game

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=6701

Looks like The Rules of the Game is finally coming to blu-ray.
It's one I've been waiting for (I never got it on DVD) and I've been hoping Criterion will upgrade it soon. I don't know if this French edition is any indication of an upgrade though.
