If my memory is correct,
[Show spoiler] the bird does come up through the floor towards the end of the film. I was trying to find an image, and this is the only one that I could find, although I don't remember this exact image in the film, so it might be a publicity still of some sort:

I'm done with my CC purchases, but yesterday I was picking up a few other titles and just before I could complete the transaction, prices went up making it a 'no-sale'. I don't think it was even 15 minutes later, I signed back in and looked at my cart and the prices had gone back to the original sale price.

Anyone else notice that Alliance's (Canada) preorder for Y tu mamá también went up today (August 23). The UK is getting a release in July. Wonder if that means the long awaited CC will be out in October/November?

Good. That gives me enough time to build up some extra funds. Is there a benefit to ordering online instead of going into the store?

More selection online. My local B&N did not have Night of the Hunter in store so I got it off of their website.

How long does the sale last? I wonder if I will be able to get Beauty & The Beast on sale?

I'm almost wondering if I should have ordered more with the DeepDiscount/DVDPlanet deals... The B&N sale is looking less appealing @ $20 per title (+tax). Are there any other member incentives/coupons that help bring this average down? There's the 10% for B&N members (in-store only?) but that basically negates the sales tax in my state. I'm spoiled now thinking I could get some of the back catalog titles for $16-17 each, and considering I'm trying to expand my personal CC, every dollar saved counts when you're buying 15+ at a time!

Several of the titles will have the 10% bonus stickers on them, making them $35 before they are marked down. Members get an additional 10% off. If I remember correctly that has been the case with almost every title.

You get to play shipping damage roulette... Or is it back order poker... Or order gets cancelled slots... Quite the thrill.

Can't wait for the upcoming sale in July. I've had my eyes on that High and Low Blu-ray. Looking forward to upgrading.

Both CC titles that I ordered earlier this week have now shipped and are tracking at DHL global mail. (Kiss Me Deadly only took two days to ship from backorder)

They gave me DHL tracking numbers but neither seem to be working on their site.

The tracking report I am getting states that both packages have entered and been processed through their Carson, CA facility and are on route to be turned over to USPS. I had to use the E-mail they sent me to see this info, as the DD.com website has no access to any tracking information.

sad news today--Peter Falk has died.
I will watch Wings of Desire tonight as a memorial to a great artist.

Default Modern Times (criterion) missing booklet?

I bought the criterion release of Modern Times last month, per Amazon's sale. Finally had a chance to unseal it yesterday, and I was perplexed that the case didn't include a booklet as is typical of Criterion. Checking the online reviews, it seems a booklet is indeed included. Can folks confirm this? If a booklet does exist, is there a way that I can receive one, or should I have just opened the case much sooner? Thanks!

Btw, if this probably should go into a separate thread, but I wasn't able to start a new one for some reason. Feel free to move my post if necessary.

Agree. I recently watched A Woman Under the Influence, which I recommend as well.

Yes, contact Jon Mulvaney (mulvaney@criterion.com) at Criterion for a replacement. Tell them your story and you should have no problems getting a booklet shipped to you.
