It was mentioned in the Hot-Deals thread, so I will just mention it here (it may have been mentioned already)

There are those who believe there is a chance that the B2G1 sale and the 50% off sale 'may' potentially overlap for a couple of hours starting at midnight tonight (EST I think is what they base their times off of.... but not sure on that one either)

So just an FYI to those who may check in late tonight.

B&N has never been shy about canceling orders though, so I don't know what to think of this.....

I have canceled a few orders in anticipation of the sale, so I would have to see what titles I still need that will be released during the time-frame of this sale if anyone is interested in doing this trade.....
If I didn't own THE THIRD MAN already then I'd be all over this deal. That's the cheapest you'll see THE THIRD MAN. . .

That's a nice deal, Beta.

For a design project it is well done. As for chances that they would actually do it, absolutely not.

Why would WB ever give up the rights to the most lucrative franchise in film history?

The Music Room looks to be an excellent release, and I just got my shipping notice. I really, really hope Criterion will be able to do something with the Apu trilogy.

I called my local Barnes & Noble and had them do in store reserves for the titles on the 19th and 26th for Blu releases.

As for upcoming announcements this Friday can we cross our fingers for a Halloween release of Don't Look Now , i know some other horror titles have been hinted at but I secretly want a nice Region 1 release for Don't.

I don't like the way they have taken out the 'and the' from the titles, but apart from that I love them. Chance of a release is zero.

There's a good chance that they'll be announced in Friday's announcements in a box set like the BBS films. However, I think we'll only get Part 1 of the last film and then next year Criterion will re-release the box set that includes the second half of Deathly Hallows. So, the real question is if you wanna wait or not.

Yes, but aren't the people of the world speculating that Optimum then tinkered with it some more? Roeg might've approved the color-timing and such, but who knows what happens after he left.

There's nothing cryptic about it. They post photos like that every now and then.

B&N have removed all the criterions from the 3for2 sale so no overlap.

Looks to me like the buy 2 get 1 free has ended on BN.com, even though it's still advertised on the site. Does it look that way to anyone else?

EDIT: beat me to it, moody!

Though you're right, it looks like they just removed the Criterions from the sale.

Couldn't find if this has been asked or not, but wondered if/what slips people use to protect their Criterions? I have some of the newer Blu's suc has Night of the Hunter as well as a load of the DVD releases still and Third Man, Short Cuts, Ugetsu etc. etc. are pretty large so just wondered if anyone could recommend some large plastic sleeves to protect them?
Cheers

I'm not sure about the others, but I tend to keep mine on a shelf and that seems to do a pretty darn good job of keeping them safe from whatever might come along. Why the reason for a poly bag? Dust? Fingerprints? Are you careless? OCD about others touching your things?

I took extreme measures as my old house was infested by vermicious knids.... since I don't have that problem at the new house, a simple shelf seems to keep them safe.
