To get away from the rating thing, and to more important things like the B&N sale, anybody else waiting for your shipment still if you pre-ordered for something that came out last Tuesday?

thanks monty70,but i didnt mean a list of all the movies they ever released.

i meant a list of only the movies that have been reissued (like seven samurai, wages of fear, all for mankind...).

November is traditionally a big month for Criterion. Last year we got Anti-Christ, Modern Times, Night of the Hunter and the BBS set.

I think November 2011 is ripe for another box set. Anyone care to speculate as to what the box set could be?

If you recall, last year around this time the BBS news started to leak...

I'll put some names out there:

Hitchcock
Cassavettes
Gorin
S. Ray
Kieslowski (already confirmed at some point).

I think the "box set" has already been spoiled for us in the colors trilogy. And don't make me give up hope that I'll see a Gorin release anytime soon. I hope one happens atleast in 2012 (thinking Gorin will be Eclipsed). And if they ever release the rest of the Godard/Gorin "Dziga Vertov Group" films, those will go the Eclipse route too.

My guesses for November:

Colors Trilogy
The Soft Skin
City Lights
Wild Strawberries blu upgrade
Bitter Rice
and another upgrade (Band of Outsiders? No Godard yet this year, hoping for Masculine Feminine though.)

That would give November the big sale names like Bergman, Truffaut, and Chaplin.

December:

World on a Wire
a blu upgrade (prob Hitchcock)

Just guesses. Not what I would want, but real chances.

Truthfully, since we know the Colors Trilogy is coming I'd rather have the box set (if there is one) be something totally out of the blue. I want a surprise.

I haven't been keeping up - is Wild Strawberries the only calendar - edit: New Year's - clue that still hasn't been announced?

(Speaking of Wild Strawberries, I started to watch it on TCM and after ten or so minutes decided to blind buy it instead. Why? I didn't like the way the subtitles looked. I wish I was kidding, I really do)

I agree with Chaplin and Bergman. Although, I think the Chaplin could be Gold Rush because the print (which is immaculate) toured before the City Lights one.

I certainly wouldn't mind another Godard...

Obviously I do too, but I doubt a surprise is coming in November. We got a couple of titles left from the new year's newsletter, a couple from Janus Films, the Colors Trilogy, and not counting any upgrades they will put out on us. I'm not expecting anything cool/"out of the blue" (wink) until the start of the 2012 announcements.

Yeah, I know

Had to take the dogs for walkies before I could finish my thought, plus the Bad TJS_Blu was busy convincing the practical TJS_Blu that he needed to order the SD-DVD Ophuls discs rather than wait, Bass-terd.

I just placed my first order ever from BN.com. Ordered a couple of Criterions for 50% off. Where do Barnes & Nobles orders usually ship from? Do they have various fulfillment centers like Amazon across the US?
