That's awesome to hear. Glad to hear that Criterion is able to come through for you. It's still not right, though, that the eBay seller screwed you on the deal.

Also, I must say that I really like Amazon's new policy of "release day delivery" when you pre-order items now. In the past, I'd get them either a day or two after the release day, but their new policy makes all that a thing of the past. So, obviously, I had my copies of "Howards End" and "Wings Of Desire," along with a few other blu-rays, waiting for me when I came home from work.

No, not like me, I already have my copy of Wings of Desire. It was just a friendly suggestion for those of you who are looking to get this issue straightened out. Sorry for trying to be helpful.

Still should have waited for the B&N sale. Even at $50 it's much less than what you paid.

$50 - 50% sale = $25 - 10% member discount = $22.50 - $5 coupon = $17.50

Just bought The Third Man from ebay after seeing that the cheapest price on Amazon now is about $50

I've seen it before, and I remember liking it, and this was when I hated movies in general, so I should be good to go.

Yeah, anything less than $20 for a Criterion Blu-Ray is an excellent deal.

I just really can't wait for next Tuesday and this point. Very glad I have a Barnes and Noble right across from my office. I'll be making two stops there a day for at least a few days to pick up a disc at a time, so I can make use of that $5 off coupon for each. I am so glad I discovered this site in time to learn such tricks.

Their online price is $40, so it's $20 during the sale.

No. Their online price is $40 because they're running a promo where all Blu-Rays are 20% off list price. When the Criterion sale starts, they will take 50% off the list price, not the already-discounted price. So it would be $25, or $17.50 after member discounts.

One use per account online, but I have used those coupons literally dozens of times in-store. That's why the Criterion sale will be a much better deal in-store than online - you'll save more money by being able to use the coupons over and over.

Hi guys, just heard back from Jon that it's $5 per item (case, cover, book is counted separately). So, big question, is the booklet for "For All Mankind" worth it?

Well, I've done these style of coupons at Gamestop and I wonder if it's similar to video games where you have the clerk who could care less if you buy over and over versus the clerk who knows what you are up to and puts a stop to it. I'm guessing it varies. I wish we had more than one B&N...mostly everything here is Borders-related.

The key is to not be greedy. Don't try to use it 9 times in a row, just try for 2 or 3. Then come back later in the day after the shift change and do it again. Rinse, repeat.

Well, I guess that depends on how many times you choose to read it. I think, for the most part now, Criterion tries to put the booklet essays online, as well. If you go to the "For All Mankind" page on their site, you'll see the essay links underneath the 'Disc Features' column.

But it's the same booklet you already have with the cardboard covered version. Just put it inthe new case.

Just went to Barnes and Noble today and they had a small bluray criterion selection and I found the Third Man digipak but now I understand why people here hate those. Unlike the dvd releases, these digipaks don't have a slip or a cardboard cover to put it in. They feel naked and could easily be damaged. I for one don't mind them but still I feel they could have given them the dvd digipak treatment rather than making them just clear cases.

My digipak has a slipcase.

It looks like this one:
