Also, I try to do a lot of research on the film before I blind buy it. I may not have seen the films, but the plots look interesting to me. It's why I won't buy Salo and Antichrist, the plots don't appeal to me, regardless of the grotesque images in the film. For All Mankind and Bottle Rocket are others as well.

I've always believed men rate the Three Colours films based on which actress they most want to sleep with. That being said, I rank the trilogy in this order: Red, Blue and White.
Hopefully, we will see the trilogy before the end of the year...

I'd check it out again if it were released on BD, especially since the DVD had an issue with the audio.
Bad Timing would probably make my top ten (or twenty maybe) list, though I haven't watched the Criterion yet. Don't disagree about the others you named (Don't Look Now was the first one I saw, and it's right up near there too).

The rest of the ones I've seen have not been nearly as memorable, but haven't seen them in decades, so who knows if that would still be the case upon revisiting them.

Ever seen Last Temptation Of Christ? That was one I really liked. Prob one of my top 10 Criterions. Just for the way it grabbed me and didn't let go for quite some time, even after I finished watching it. Still even.

My two Criterions shipped today from BN.com. Does Barnes & Nobles usually ship in a bubble envelopes or boxes?

Neither. They come in corrugated cardboard envelopes.

They don't seem to offer the best protection, but I've gotten about 4 or 5 separate orders with no problem. A few people complained about cracked cases, but IIRC that was because they had larger orders that were squeezed into envelopes rather than boxes. With a two disc order you should be fine.

Can't wait to pick this up. Not sure if I can hold out until the November B&N Criterion sale.
Then why don't you preorder it from DeepDiscount for $18.99 with the WERHERE5 coupon code?

Cancelled my order of High and Low online and went ahead to get it at a store. I really can't wait to see it for the first time. I'm also glad I got it the day it came out.

Because I'd like to receive it before 2025 .

Seriously, though, if DD doesn't still have problems with late shipments (1-2 months usually haha) and canceling orders, I might consider it.

Has anyone noticed an audio anomaly with the Leon Morin, Priest BD starting at @19m13s and ending at @19m19s? To my ear it sounds like static originally, followed by digital distortion with a slight volume dropout. At 19m20s the sound returns to its original levels. (maybe slightly louder then before)

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well, even at 1-2 months The Killing (street date: August 16) would still arrive before November.

For those who own Last Year at Marienbad, I hope someone can answer my question about the video itself. At 43:25, there's this sort of stain that appears at the bottom that keeps wiggling until it disappears at the 44:55 mark. I've attached a pic showing it. I've seen the movie a couple of times before and I finally bought it today but I can't remember if that defect has always been there.

That is a piece of debris (hair, lint or a piece of the film itself) that was caught in the camera gate during filming I believe. You will see this in many films from time to time.

This is why directors will ask to "check the gate" after a take. Enjoy Last Year at Marienbad, it's one of my favorites.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't know why I never noticed it before, I guess now that I bought it, I'm a little more finicky. I'll definitely enjoy it. Every time I see it, I feel like I just woke up from a dream afterwards.

No problem, I see those "hairs" on the borders of film frames quite frequently. The Criterion BD of Last Year at Marienbad is one of best HD releases yet from the CC. I invested in a plastic replacement case for this, (even though LYaM had one of the better cardboard cases IMO) the original packaging would let dust into the disc compartment and this could lead to scratches.

Recently with preorders they have been shipping them out quite early. I ordered the Buster Keaton short from them and received it nine days before the release. Others have described similar experiences.

This isn't the case - the high-definition transfer is an obvious step up in quality. You don't see much of a difference because the screencaptures offered there are misleading.
