Does Criterion really have the rights to the Godzilla movies or is it just a rumor?

Any thoughts on what titles will be included in November's releases?

The original Japanese and the American version are on Hulu.

Long, long ago, in the days of the dinosaurs, there were rumors that Criterion was going to do Godzilla laserdiscs. So, some of us are hopeful... and wait patiently.

Thought Sony had that one.

(The original Gojira had a Rialto theatrical restoration, but it was still trapped under Classic Media's license, along with the US version and all the UPA Henry Saperstein dubs.)

I've found the Double Life has lots of rewatch value. One of my favorite criterions. I'm patiently waiting for the bluray box set of the Three Colors Trilogy this fall.

She's like a silent film actor in the sound era; every facial expression, gesture, and scream is exaggerated in a childish way. Guess I'm too used to realism in film.

Seeing High and Low on Blu-ray is so, so satisfying. It made me realize that it truly is my favorite Kurosawa film. And thats saying a lot from me. His films are such gems.

My girlfriend surprised me a few days ago with a Barnes and Noble bag.

Inside it was the High and Low BD

She managed to get the last copy.

After checking which Criterion titles have won the Palm d'Or at Cannes I started wondering something (It's absolutely out of topic ). Is there a director in the world who has won each of the top-prizes at the "Big Three" (Cannes, Berlin, Venice)?

Im sure someone can shed more light on this than I can, but I know Terrence Malick has won at Cannes and Berlin (Tree of Life/Thin Red Line)

FYI, your top 20 might be the best I've ever seen. The movie that impresses me most on your list is Sullivan's Travels! :thumbsup

I'll post a quick list myself:
The Graduate, 2001:ASO, Taxi Driver, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Rushmore, TGTBATU, Requiem for a Dream, Diving Bell & the Butterfly, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Sullivan's Travels, Sunset Blvd, Ben-Hur, American Beauty, Dark City, Man Who Wasn't There, Ace in the Hole, Caddyshack, Manchurian Candidate (62).
A few movies that very narrowly miss this list are Vertigo, Jules & Jim, La Jetee, Persona, Le Samourai, and Network.
