I enjoyed the film, think it's pretty strong... but upon further reflection and another viewing.. it has dropped off a bit for me. Certainly a film everyone should see, but I don't see myself revisiting it too often in the future. Will probably trade it in.

Its a bit like flipping through a photo album. Cute. Sweet. Awwwww. So I doubt it will win Best Picture, especially when compared to the themes of its competition |

Linklater has confirmed it is coming, but given the current distribution deal with Paramount, I'd say it is probably 2-3 years off.

I agree. It was totally overrated and overhyped. Didn't hate it but wasn't anything amazing. Best thing about it was Arquette and Hawke. She truly deserved her Oscar but the movie didn't and that's why it didn't win all the ones it was nominated for.

So is the 50+min. Q and A on the US disc actually a Q and A session recorded at a live event? The Canadian disc has a 50+ min. Q and A, but it just various interviews recorded over the 12 years of making the feature. Kind of like extended interviews from the 20 min. making of. I think because of the way it is named and the matching length, we all assumed it was the same, but from reading reviews, it looks like these are two completely different extras! Strange!

I actually did some comparisons with the Canadian disc compared to the review of the US disc on here, and it looks like the extras are completely different between the two releases. Here's the info from my "Canada/ US Blu-ray Differences and Comparisons" thread.
Boyhood - Although similarity named, the extras are actually completely different across the two releases. The 12 Year Project Making Of Featurette is 16min. on the Canadian disc, compared to 19 min. on the US disc. They also have two completely different Q and A extras. The US disc has a live Q and A (53 min.) recorded after a screening of the film, where as the Canadian disc includes various interviews with the cast over the 12 years making the film (54 min.). These seem to be extended interviews from the Making Of Featurette. Finally, the Canadian disc contains an extra interview with Ethan Hawke recorded in Toronto, Canada on Sept. 10, 2014 (8 min.). I watched this last weekend. I knew nothing about it at all going into it. I kept waiting and waiting for something - anything! - to happen but never did. Yeah, I know the movie was trying to offer a different perspective of growing up around certain, common events, but it sort of flopped for me. A movie needs some sort of plot.
