Shit, Criterion. I'm gonna be broke this November. Not to mention all the Holiday deals, etc.

The Three Colors Trilogy - I've been praying for the day Criterion would release these for over a decade now. The cover art is...okay. Red is the only cover I'd say is good. Blue's cover is awful and completely random. I've always hated the fact that White is sold as a Julie Delpy movie. But in this case, it'd actual improve the cover if they moved the framing over and included her. As far as extras, I'm glad I held onto the Miramax DVDs. A shame they didn't port over the commentaries or get Insdorf to record new ones.

The Rules of the Game - A very good movie. I don't own the DVD and will consider picking this up.

Fanny and Alexander - I've owned the DVD set for years but never got around to watching it. Time to sell and upgrade!

Rushmore - One of my favorite films. A no brainer. Should I sell the DVD?

12 Angry Men - A great film. I'm surprised by the indifference to it I've seen here and on other boards.

OMG what a disappointing lineup. You mean we only get ONE Wes Anderson film?! I want Life Aquatic and Royal Tenenbaums now!

It's Island of Lost Souls that's $19.99 (and Battle of Algiers), and there are still some small coupons out there to bring the prices down a bit.

think that Thin Red Line is also down to $19...

Phantom Carriage is also $19.99 to pre-order at B&N.

They have a sale today for 50% off their top 100 sellers, those are the only two criterion blu-rays that are in it (as far as I can tell).

Although it's not on Blu, I am looking forward to Eclipse Series #30: Sabu! It's also coming in November from Criterion. A trio of old-school adventure stories, including a classic live-action version of The Jungle Book.

You should be ordering "Battle of Algiers" via B&N right now for $22.50

I wouldn't wait and chance it.

Anytime a desired CC title hits 50% (or better) off, I jump on that puppy.

Yep. Looks like I got them mixed up. I was browsing and thinking about putting in order earlier. But I couldn't get coupon to work, even on non pre-orders.

So for the Criterion titles I'm still going to wait because I know November sale will be 50% off again and coupons could get me $5-8 additional off. Still if anyone absolutely cannot wait, 50% off is a pretty strong deal by itself.

Just popped my Criterion cherry on that deal myself and preorderd the other one. Seriously thinking about getting Blow Out new for 19.99 on Amazon.

Tempting but that's the same price it will be in Nov with the instore member discount and we still don't know what the additional coupon situation will be (I was blessed with a pretty accomodating cashier in July).

And there's no real downside to waiting (aside from the wait itself, of course).

You may want to click the option on the left to limit it to the Blu-Rays.

Of The Three Colors Trilogy, I've only seen Red, but I loved it. I wanted it on Blu-ray right after watching it on DVD. Hopefully Blue and White won't disappoint, but Red is enough to make me buy the collection.

They more or less release good films that get ignored by bigger studios. They fill a very important gap in the American DVD/Blu market. Without Criterion we might never see movies from many classic videos come to video.

Other than there's no guarantee that there will be a sale, or that the item won't be in stock, or B&N will cancel the order you place on an out of stock item the day before the sale ends, absolutely no downside at all.

My two local stores are pretty well stocked.

And I like life on the edge anyway.
