Same here. I think they got a lot of orders so we have to wait for new stock to come in. I don't mind waiting as long as it comes.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I don't mind since it was a good price just wasn't sure if that was the norm but sounds right.

I still need to watch The Killing which I recieved 2 days ago.

The last couple of BDs I got from the B&N sale finally shipped today. Yeah, took them this long, but Pierrot le Fou and High and Low at 20 bucks each are worth the wait. And it's gonna be a long one, apparently. An order they shipped a month ago today hasn't arrived yet. Still got several orders totaling 13 movies on their way. Everything that happens on the street sound like the mailman to me at this point...

I used to wonder why this local hot dog stand named one of their combo meals The Ron Jeremy. I always thought I would never be able to finish it and would always order something else unnamed.

I bought awhile ago when amazon had for about $15. I loved it, but I grew up in the late 60s & early 70s so I love all that is about the moon race. It makes me nostalgic for the time when we dreamed the impossible dream and then made it come true.

Thanks, to be honest I wasn't alive during that period but I've always been fascinated by the Apollo mission, hopefully I'll be able to appreciate it to the same extent.

On an unrelated topic has anyone seen wings of desire? Same scenario as above

I highly recommend For All Mankind. It is a hauntingly beautiful journey through the Apollo program. Classifying it as documentary does not do it justice, it is more like a lyrical cinematic ballet of rockets, men, and the Moon.

I like this movie, the cinematography is dream-like and poetic. It takes its time to linger over people and places (so some might call it "slow") since the main character is an angel who observes and watches over humans together with a few fellow angels, until he becomes enthralled with one particular mortal woman. Set in West Berlin a few years before the wall came down, the city itself is one of the main "characters". And it has Peter Falk.

I was thinking about finally watching my copy of Howards End and was hoping to get some opinions on the film and the disc. The review on the site certainly makes it sound interesting and Criterion rarely ever steers me wrong. Thanks in advance!

I have a MIGHTY NEED for Persona and Hour of The Wolf. Criterion may not be able to pry either from MGM, sadly.

I really doubt that would happen.
But if it did, I'd be all over it.

And hey, 12 Angry Men is certainly a surprise, so who knows?

Since your choices appear to be 'watch it' or 'don't watch it' I would steer you toward watching it

But seriously folks...you don't really any prep or background. As Criterions go this one is a pretty straightforward, traditional narrative. It's good but not really all that different from a lot of other movies you've seen over the years.

I was a little too young (I was about to turn seven) to appreciate the moon landing itself (though I have very, very fond memories of the jigsaw puzzles and model kits and all the snacks at the party) but my Grandfather *loved* it all and we would always stop whatever we were doing to watch a launch on tv or to try to catch Skylab flash overhead.

It was extremely cool.
