Same here. Hopefully it comes soon so that I can watch it before things start to get crazy this fall.

Pre-ordered on day one. I just wish Criterion would get the rights to the rest of the trilogy back.

Have to agree 110%. Both were amazing films IMO.

Really underrated film. In the KINO thread there was zero discussion and no love for this title. Sad because its a great film.

More whining about shipping before I attempt to talk about titles in the colletion. Anyone else in Canada find DHL has really sucked since our postal issues? Regular shipping use to take a week, now it's two. I inadvertantly paid 2 bucks more for "expedited" shipping, which is taking the same amount of time that regular shipping use to take. Except, it's still not showing up within a week. Urk, I want my copies of The Killing and Seventh Seal. They're really making B&N's slowness seem like a more viable option, because despite their slowness, I'm not paying for "expedited shipping," and not receiving it.

Anyways, I said a few posts back that I watched and enjoyed Blow Up, with the exception of the cheesy late 70s-early 80s music score, which I felt detracted a little from the film. Did anyone else agree? Also, I'm not normally a Travolta fan (my family calls him Revolta), but I thought he was excellent in the role, and was quite surprised at how excellent he was.

Watched my second criterion Videodrome the other day. Thought it was quite good. Criterion is introducing me to a lot of movies I've never even heard of before. Looking forward to picking up some more and reading this great thread.

Have you ever tried Amazon market? They're usually very very fast.

95% of the market sellers (coincidentally all the ones that have cheaply priced Criterions) "aren't able to be shipped to your area." Believe me, I've tried. I was able to order from the Market once, and was hit with a duty fee. So I stick with Amazon. It's only been since our Postal Strike ended that it's been an issue for my shipments. Before, I was receiving stuff from them at the same speed or quicker than ordering from the actual Canadian site. Also, when I pay slightly more for faster service, I kinda want to see said faster service. I was just curious if anyone else has been having issues as well.

BTW, did you watch Blow Up yet? And what were your thoughts on it so it doesn't look like all I do in this thread is complain about shipping.

I have to disagree on the score. I think it really sells the dramatic arc of the film.
It's a little heavy-handed, but I think it's called for.

Still waiting for B&N shipments from July 26th, 29th, and August 2nd to Halifax, though I received one that shipped on August 3rd somehow. It's got to be Canada Post that's holding it up at this point I think?

I'd love to have any of Kurosawa's remaining films released on Blu, but I've really got a craving for Drunken Angel in particular.

I still have B&N items as well, but I know they're slow. I'm still waiting for High and Low (shipped on the 29th, should be coming this week since Blow Out came on Friday, and it was shipped the 27th), and Hausu, which was shipped on the 8th. I'm not concerned about them as I anticipate them being slow, as strange as it sounds.

It's Amazon that I'm concerned about, as they have been problematic for my past few orders since our postal issues ended back in June. I paid 2 bucks more for supposedly faster shipping, and I am not receiving this supposedly faster shipping. I did an order before that, that normally would have taken a week, but it took two. This order was done at the end of July, long after the backlog supposedly cleared up. Amazon is shipping my items, but DHL isn't telling me any shipping info until a week after the fact, and then it's just sitting in their system. It shouldn't take 2 weeks to ship an item from Amazon, when prior to the Postal Strike, it took half the time. I'm probably whining for the the sake of whining though.

I felt that in some scenes, the score sounded too much like generic synth pop, and didn't quite suit the mood of the scenes it was played in. But again, that's just me. I did notice my copy acted oddly though. Just as
[Show spoiler]Sally was smashing Manny over the head with the booze bottle, my parents' TV flashed, and the sound cut out.
I stopped the disc, and hit resume, and rewound the scene, and had sound again. It was weird and ironic, given the emphasis of sound in the film. A few times the sound was fading in and out, and sounded muffled. They have either the HP75U or HP35U Sharp BD player, and a LG LCD TV that's almost 3 years old. They also have a Denon SS system that's about that age too. I haven't tried it in my player yet.

I have the exact experiance. I'm from Australia and it usually takes 2 weeks for orders to arrive. This time it was a bit more than a month. That 2 bucks for "expedited" is a load of......

And buy the way...... CC needs to release "Nashville"

I'm not the biggest Altman fan, but I would choose The Long Goodbye, Shortcuts or Gosford Park as my top picks
[Show spoiler](what with The Player already out in blu)

Nope. Truthfully, DePalma doesn't interest me much. I want to see it eventually but I probably won't purchase it.
