Default Insignificance

Does anyone know of a way to actually WATCH "Insignificance"? It's not available on Netflix. It's not available on Hulu plus. It's not available on youtube. Is it THAT insignificant of a film? It's the only announced upcoming CC release that I haven't seen and it's driving me crazy to not be able to find it.

That seems to be the consensus on other forums too. Finally a clue that is not so easy to figure out. Hopefully this will become consistent.

Well, it's already been released to buy. You could take the plunge and go for the blind buy. I hear good things, but have never seen it myself.

Color me embarrassed! I didn't realize it had been released. I had this crazy idea that it wasn't coming out until September or October for some reason.

Cronenberg is one of those directors that like Kubrick or Lynch you either love him or hate him and a lot of his films are way a head of their time.

The CC laserdisc says it was filmed in 1.33:1, but cropped to Cronenberg's preferred ratio, which was 1.66:1. Cronenberg = CC = correct. Although I am going by CC's linear notes, which is clearly biased.

Agreed. I side with Almodovar's Talk to Her, but I ENJOY not really knowing.

Watched Revanche. Thought it was awesome in spite of the second half being totally predictable.

Knowing Spidey, as I do...I would wager that it's the Vigo BD set. He's also getting it early, which means that he did not buy it from Amazon. Criterion directly?

Enjoy it Bud!

I don't think I had to say what it was. You are correct. I finished off my $50 Criterion gift card I had since last year (with the lack of stuff I wanted, and the B&N sale, it was the first thing I could use it on).

The downfall is paying that shipping. Oh well, got it on a discount, and I would gladly pay more for this.

Agreed! I'll have my copy of the Vigo and hopefully Strike on Tuesday.

Although the actual review of The Killing/Killer's Kiss was out about a month ago, the image and link has still not been posted to the first page of this thread.

I agree that Revanche is awesome. As for the second half being predictable, I guess for me it did not feel that way because of the slowly building dread of events.
[Show spoiler]I kept wondering how the main character would react as events played out.

That's true, it was suspenseful not knowing how he'd react, but the events themselves were fairly obvious.
[Show spoiler] His affair with the officer's wife. Her finally getting pregnant, etc.
Still really enjoyed it.

Is there somewhere other than Criterion's site where one can order replacement Criterion blu-ray cases? The shipping price for me on their site is about as much as the actual cases.
