+1 I prefer MoC covers over Criterion most of the time. But I don't buy them based on covers.

Nope, they're definitely all 2.35:1.

The packaging is likely a Digipack, considering it's a two-disc release from Criterion.

Not Criterion related but, do we have a Masters of Cinema thread? I mean, an on-going thread just like this one . The more I see at their catalog the more I want to import some of them. The first one is definitely going to be Sunrise from Murnau. Don't see Criterion releasing it (I don't even think they have rights for anything Murnau) nor I see Kino pulling the trigger. My only other question is, why are they so expensive through Amazon ? There is probably an easy answer for that one but I know nothing about MoC .

Yeah, it's in the International thread.

MoC thread is in the UK section, being it's a UK company and the reason Amazon is so high is it's because they are imports. Order from Amazon.UK.

... make sure you have a region-free player or check the disc is not region-locked before buying from the UK, because many of those films might be region-locked to Region B.

Thanks a lot for the links and info ! Yeah, I thought about that a few seconds after posting . Will try to get a multi-region BD player and start importing some stuff, I can't believe how much you can miss out in terms of films. Most "small" features get overlooked here in America. The amount of new, interesting films I found from day to day never ceases to amaze me. You can miss a lot of stuff by sticking to a single market .

Default Amazon sale on Criterions

How often does Amazon have sale on Criterions? They need to get on the ball because I have been purchasing most of my titles from B & N.

It's possibly in customs, but they'll gonna send me a notice about it.
I received my final two packages from the sale last week. They took over a month to reach Oz, and that was with the more expensive postal option (not courier though).

It's very bizarre how BN's shipping works

To top things off, they omitted "Darjeeling" blu from my order and put in instead a copy od "Of Gods and Men", which I've never heard of. I contacted them and they eventually offerred me options to get a refund or a replacement with a free return postal voucher for the disc that I didn't order - I chose the latter, and then the next thing I was advised that they were very sorry that I hadn't received my order and they were issuing a full refund for that disc! And no refund has been forthcoming!

I think the issue is the broker they use for international shipping. My discs have been arriving within 2 weeks to a little over a month. The last few have been arriving about 3 weeks later. I only live in Canada which isn't as far away as many of the other posters. I honestly have no idea why their shipping is so slow to Canada, but then again, I've been finding all of my US purchases have been having shipping issues lately.

I've been having shipping issues with Amazon lately too. I had pre-ordered If... and The Killing when Canada Post was on strike, and paid the 2 extra dollars for Expedited shipping. It's taking longer for me to get these so-called expedited parcels than it did for the order I placed on my birthday with Standard shipping. I'm half tempted to do a customer service chat with Amazon over the measly 2 dollars, because this stuff was supposed to arrive quicker. DHL has been pretty bad lately as well, but shipping still isn't as slow as B&N. Good thing I'm not ordering anything online until November, once my last B&N order shows up in 2 weeks, and whenever If... shows up from Amazon, I'm done with mail ordering. I need to save some cahs.

Well...I was finally able to watch a good bit of the Jean Vigo set...VERY GOOD!

I watched the first (3) films and then rewatched with the commentary. I'm very happy with what I've seen so far and am saving "L'atalante" for next weekend, along with all of the supplements.

BUY this set if you are on the fence about it...I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Just now I received my parcel from B&N I've talked about before (Shipped 02.August). It came by DPD (Wiki).
Therefore I'm going to order from B&N again in the future.

So anyone have any suspicions as to what Criterion's December slate is going to be?

That would be great. I am starting to wonder what spine 600 will be, since they will probably do something big. The Gojira set makes sense, as some have speculated, but I am starting to wonder if it will be a Chaplin set, which would explain why they have been coming so slow.
