They might go with a Chaplin short sets? Kino as proven a set with Keaton work's so they might want to go for something like that? I would take that as well

I would love that. I still haven't purchased the Mutual or Keystone Chaplin sets, and would love to see Criterion release them.

Fincher's schedule is allegedly holding up THE GAME. The same might be said about Nolan's film.

I'm dying to see Ace in the Hole go blu, since it's one of their later stand alone DVD releases.

My ultimate pie-in-the-sky wish would be to see Koyaanisqatsi, which has been rumored forever.

I am hoping we get another important upgrade. I mean, something along the lines of Fanny and Alexander or The Battle of Algiers . I know I am being wishful but I want to see Andrei Rublev and/or Taste of Cherry . Will probably pass out if Criterion announces any of those for December. But that wishful thinking of mine, what is realistic? Well, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Wild Strawberries, Belle du Jour and City Lights are some of the most probable options.

I'm going to throw Drunken Angel out as a December long shot. There hasn't been a peep about it but I can't get that film canister they posted last summer out of my head.

Luckily Sunrise is region-free as is its companion film City Girl.

And both are fantastic movies I might add. I would add Criterion's Pandora's Box to the discussion. My favorite silent movie at the moment starring my favorite silent movie actress - Louise Brooks.

I picked up that title during the July B&N sale - it feels relatively 'safe' from a soon upgrade - and yeah, I'll say I've got a little itch to watch Louise Brooks movies, though they're not readily available.

As a side note, finally got around to watching Vivre Sa Vie last night, and about halfway through I thought, 'wow, Nana looks like Mia Wallace' and 'man, Nana looks like Lulu' practically simultaneously.

You might already know, but Anna Karina's hairstyle and role in Vivre Sa Vie were a tribute to Louise Brooks by Godard; as were Melanie Griffith's hairstyle and look in the first half of Something Wild She even called herself LuLu until she changed her hair color.

I just finished reading "Louise Brooks, a Biography" by Barry Paris and she was so far ahead of her time that she lapped the field. If you liked Pandora's Box I have to recommend Diary of a Lost Girl also. I thought it was just as good.

Ace In The Hole was one of my favorite blind buys on DVD. I had never even heard of it before Criterion put it out.

Do you guys recommend the movie or series version of Fanny and Alexander? What about Scenes from a Marriage? I like Bergman so I'll probably like them anyway, but I'd rather watch whatever version is more "true" of both films.

Haven't seen the full version of F&A (been more or less just waiting for the blu for quite a while now), but for sure you want to watch the series version of Scenes From A Marriage (first, the movie version is worth a view as well).

It looks like my blu-ray package that I ordered from B&N in July finally turned up.
It took about 41 days to get to Australia.
My other B&N packages took about 3 weeks, which also about how long Amazon takes.
Mrs DrBikeShorts is bringing the package home from her work and hopefully has these blu-rays:
Zazie Dans Le Metro, Beauty and the Beast, High and Low, Last Year At Marienbad, Cronos and The Music Room.
After some of the stories I've been reading here, I'll be opening every case and checking each disc
