From what I read, more full frontal footage was cut from all releases, with the footage lost, and If.... has never been released anywhere with that few seconds or so in it. There has never been an "uncensored" version (or what DVDBeaver is calling uncensored) released anywhere. The version on the BD is the version that was originally released in theatres.
THANK YOU! THAT explains it! I wonder how those reviewers were able to see the "famous lost footage"...unless they heard about it from someone else.

I thought Anderson had to make some cuts to allow the matron's nude scene to stay in the film.

I saw "O' Lucky Man" in the US theaters when it was first released. I made it my last NetFlix rental before canceling the disc delivery part of my plan. I hadn't watched it since it first came out.

It's based on McDowell's early experiences as a salesman for a coffee company (I hadn't know that before).

As it's part of a "Mick Travis" trilogy...maybe CC will release it as part of a BD boxset in the future.

I think the CC release was the only one available to them. It must be the so called 'cut' version. There are posts I have read about people seeing the original UK theatrical release saying that there were a few scenes cut from it on the CC and Paramount dvd. So, in essence, we are getting the 'cut' version.

I place my order for Beauty & The Beast on day one of the sale (pre-order by about 14 days I think) and I got it the last week on July or somewhere around there

Three Colors from Criterion. Can't wait!!! Already preordered.

Now Criterion, please release Dekalog on blu. Your purpose on earth will be accomplished and whatever you release after it, it will be just a bonus

Seriously, this would be the ultimate blu ray release of the decade. I'd gladly pay $100 for it, if not more.

Oh now I remember what I did, I waited till it they released the movie before placing the order. I guess they got a huge amount of orders for the movie and it's taking a longerthanusualtime to receive their stock.

I just received my orders from the 50% off sale today. I ordered The Killing and Secret Sunshine, however Secret Sunshine never came, The Complete Jean Vigo was in its place.

I emailed Criterion seeing if I could just reorder Secret Sunshine for 50% off still. I have never heard of Jean Vigo before but after reading the review on this site I am pretty curious about this set now.

Was able to snag The Killing with B&N 50% one-day bluray sale just now. Just FYI that it's there for the picking

I think Belle de Jour is the only 'hint' we will probably get in December. Usually December is a quiet month for Criterion regarding releases. It may only be 2 or 3 titles.

Got that too as well as Cul-de-Sac, Orpheus, Secret Sunshine, If... and The Complete Jean Vigo.

I should have waited for the November sale, but I found a 10% off coupon so the price for the killing came down to $17.99 and $21.59 for the others, I can live with that since there was no idea in ordering only The Killing and paying shipping for that...

All 6 got an expected shipping date of September 14th, so here's hoping they actually keep it this time and everything going smoothly!

I hope the hell we get Y Tu Mamá También from the wacky new year's hint.

Guess we're also missing Bitter Rice unless that was Amarcord(?), but Y Tu Mamá También has been in the pipeline forever.

I'm trying to remember back to that drawing. Bitter Rice would be cool, I've never seen it. Y Tu Mamá También is way over due. I'm going to guess Rashomon as December's Blu ray upgrade.

Carlos Saura's 1981 film Deprisa, Deprisa was just added to Criterion Hulu. I'm wondering if a Blu ray is in the works.

Default Howards End?

I have a question for the PQ experts:

I am watching Howards End and notice there is a lot of very noticeable, pulsating grain. Is that normal for this BD? I also noticed it on my copy of The Makioka Sisters. I can't imagine it is my player, since these are the only two instances of it. I just want to know if the BD itself is likely messed up, or if what I'm seeing is normal. It's more than just your everyday grain...as I don't believe grain is supposed to pulsate this strongly. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Thanks!
