It's official.....Metallica can actually produce a layer of excrement so thick, they can render Lou Reed un-listenable.

I have no idea who that is either.

I'm getting old.

But, but, but, by Youtube comments, it's Lou Reed who is a sucky singer and Metallica shouldn't even look in Lou Reed's direction (who is Lou Reed by the way?). Just like when that one talent singer woman (what was her name?) got turned down from singing "Perfect Day", her fan(s) said Lou Reed couldn't sing either.

Metallica fans hate this, and that prob means it will be good.

Strangely, I would ask Malick why Bale is even in his film...

Michael Caine is going to freaking nail the voiceovers though.

That's a lock.

Hey, Metallica is awesome! Their lyrics and the structure of their music is like the Criterion Collection of music! They are awesome and I am very excited about LuLu. For the record, I am a long-time Metallica fan and I've seen them live (which was amazing).

And give me a break, Cristian Bale is an awesome actor. Him working with Mallick should produce an awesome film. Some people on this forum are so snobby, it's crazy!

Criterion movies got some pretty awesome music too. After watching the youtube clips of Tokyo Drifter, that main theme is stuck in my head now.

Although not on blu-ray as of yet, Larisa Shopitko's Soviet-era film The Ascent also has some hauntingly effective music by Alfred Shnittke (man, now that's a name!). The Ascent Suite floored me the first time I heard it. It moves gently at first like a slowly uncoiling snake before suddenly striking with power. Combined with the images of the film, it is beautiful and frightening music.

What, you mean you've never heard of Janus Criterion, the great movie director before? Shame! He makes the movies all the cool kids are watching in this thread.

Hopefully, the critical success of Drive will lead to a Criterion blu-ray release of Le Samouraļ in the near future. Hell, if they get Drive as well, that would be even more awesome.
